I have received yet ANOTHER smack in my face.. I just got my letter back from this insurance agency that I applie for, stating that I was basically too fat to have insurance..and according to them, since I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with my son, I can't get it even if I wasn't fat.

I'm trying not to get down about this, but I'm finding it very hard not to get a little depressed about this. It's like everyone around me is telling me I need to lose this weight.. I KNOW I do.. I'm just finding it hard to take that first step..again. I think what I'm going to attempt is to get back on track... continue writing down everything I'm eating during the day, and work out at least every other day.. Or go on a walk with my son... I can't live like this any more. I'm tired of being told NO...

So ANY boosts would be great.. tell me how you did it. What works for you? is it healthy?

Prove them wrong!! Loose the weight and apply for insurance through someone else. I dont think your gestational diabetes should count! Im on the GI diet and its the best and easiest diet that I have ever done. Ive lost weight steadily and rarely felt hungry. I have found this website fantastic for support and advice. Sign up for one of the challenges for extra motivation. Good luck!

Well, after I had my two kids, my weight got up to 223 pounds. I knew I was heavy, but had a hard time getting motivated to lose the weight. I went into a store and some little kids said "look at the fat lady." I realized I had become the "fat lady", lol! I sat in my car and cried. The next day I joined Weight watchers. I lost a bunch of weight on it. I am still struggling to get the rest off. I like WW because it allows you to eat like a normal person. I don't have to exclude any food group. I can go out to eat or have a couple of beers and still lose weight. But there are many plans out there and you have to find one that fits into your life and one you can live with for the rest of your life. Losing weight is really hard, but for me, being overweight is harder. If I have to choose one "hard" over the other, I would rather it be the "lose weight" hard (if that makes sense). Make a list of all the reasons you want to lose weight for youself and put them where you can see them every day. Then make up your mind to try a plan or make your own plan. Then do it! You can do it! Good luck!

When I started I researched a lot of different plans beefore deciding on Atkins. As I'm alone it is easier to make choices. I think you have to consider your lifestyle, resources and family when you decide.
