Yesterday I took the day off and went to the zoo with my daughter, my mom, and two of my nieces. It was fun to take the day to walk through the zoo and see my four year old niece enjoy the animals. Of all things she thought the ostrich was beautiful. :) It just goes to show you beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Then, we went to eat at IHOP. That was the kids choice. I ended up eating about 3/4 of my two scrambled eggs and 1 1/2 pancakes with a little syrup. I really wasn't very hungry, but I just ate until I was full, and still ended up staying under my calorie target. I'm learning. I used to eat until I was miserable just because the food tasted good, and now I'm learning that I can enjoy what I'm eating but if I stop when I'm full I still feel good. Will it work every time, probably not, but one meal at a time.

No workout yesterday because we weren't home until late, but I'll get back on track today. And, I was walking quite a bit yesterday, so I'm happy with that. Those days off where you have a mental break to just have fun are wonderful. :)
