I am completely baffled. I'm on WW and I told my WW Lead that the 19 points I am limited to is leaving me under 1000 calories a day. He insisted that it is more because of fats, fibers, proteins, etc.

I told him I felt my body has gone into starvation mode because it's been 3 weeks and I have not lost any weight (this includes a mile of walking a day) - if anything I am starting to gain when someone from a message board suggested I should dip into my 35 extra points for the week and consume 5 extra each day.

The lead urged me to add more protein to my diet, which I have done - by adding eggs, beans, fat free cottage cheese.

At the end of the day, regardless of how I obtain the points, from carbs or proteins, my caloric intake is still between 900-1000 due to the 19 point limitation.

By the time lunch is over, I have practically exhausted my points for the day and am left with 1 point.

Before I was on the protein kick, I would eat every 2 hours, due to hypoglycemia and the point vs. calorie issue was the same.

For example, today I ate my 19 points:

2 cups of Coffee with powdered creamer and stevia
1 cup of fat free cottage cheese with 2 pear halves
1 banana
1 can of chunky healthy chicken soup with organic dark red kidney beans added
20 mini marshmallows
1/2 bag of raw broccoli, cauliflower and carrots
1 slice of WW swiss cheese

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hi Chickie. I know how you feel! I am allowed 21 points per day and I am definitely going without and feeling it. After 3 weeks of following the points, I came to realize that I needed to dip in to the 35 extra per week daily to allow me enough per day to avoid starving. It is tough but I am loosing. Good luck :D

Hi there.. I know what you mean about the 19 points not being enough.. my ww leader used to tell me to use some of the 35 extra points... I tried not to at first.. I would eat a lot of extra veggies, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, cauliflower and broccoli with some low fat dip ..it is hard ... have you tried the zig zag ww - where you have 1 or 2 higher days and a few lower days but eat the total pts for the week... www.stormpc.com/ww/wendie_plan.htm .. if you go to this website it explains the plan... WW won't endorse this but it might work for you... Keep at it..

Hi! Are you adding points for the exercise that you are doing? I know this is an old post but sometimes we forget that exercise burns calories. so, if you are eating 1000 but exercising 200, you are really only getting 800. Plus, vegetables are no points and low calories, be sure to bulk up on that! I am inspired by your recent losses! Good job!
