'Cause it slipped my mind... I went to a concert this last weekend. It was... AWESOME!

It was a (mostly) metal show, so don't click any of the links if you don't like being screamed at.

The opening act was a band called From Sword to Sunrise. I was all the way up at the front (woohoo!), so I didn't see when a mosh pit broke out behind me... and then someone got pushed out. By "pushed out" I mean they basically shoulder tackled my lower spine and sent me into the barricade. OUCH! I was with my amigo at the time and he went complete nuts**t when it happened. He just saw me disappear so he started knocking moshers on their asses. I guess I should expect no less from a metal show. LOL

The next band was Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. I can only describe their music as redneck metal. It is very Southern rock inspired. I had never heard their stuff before, but I really liked "Step Up" and especially "Memories of the Grove".

Next up was Lacuna Coil. My girlfriend is slightly obsessed with them. Unfortunately, she had to work that night. She sent me with her camera and demanded I take at least 100 pics of Cristina Scabbia (the lead singer). Mission accomplished.

Then... (dun dun dun) the headliner, and my favorite band, All That Remains. They played my 3 favorites basically in a row... "Become the Catalyst", "The Air That I Breathe", and "Tattered on My Sleeve". It was amazing. When they finished the set my friend caught an ATR pick, and I caught one of the drummer's sticks that he threw into the crowd. It is my preciousssssss.

I love the ghosting effect in that pic.

I got beat up, bruised, covered in sweat, lost my voice and my hearing for a while... totally worth it.

So that was LAST weekend. This weekend is going to be a scare fest. I'm going to see Paranormal Activity tonight with my girlfriend, and then we're going to Thrillvania (see video below) Saturday night. WOOHOO!

Sounds like fun!! I'm glad you had a friend there willing to back you up. I've been knocked into the railing myself before, too. Not fun! But worth it! That's so cool you caught the drum stick! Mmm...drumstick. LOL! (I'm so hungry...) And yay! You convinced her to go to Thrillvania! Let us know how it goes. Oh and let me know about that movie. I've heard some stuff, but won't tell you until after you've seen it. : ) Sounds like a great weekend planned. Enjoy it!

P.S. I like a couple Lacuna Coil songs...can't tell you their names because I don't know them. But I suppose they would be the radio singles. So far I like what I've heard. Great pics!

@PFLala: The Lacuna Coil songs I like are "Our Truth", "Closer", and "Spellbound". I'm not a huge fan otherwise. I love Cristina Scabbia's voice, but the other guy sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me. I think it might be the accent. I wish he would sing in Italian instead so it would sound more natural.

@Charlotte: It's a word that hasn't been in my vocabulary for a while. It almost sounds weird coming out of my mouth... I'll get used to it. :)

@Selina: You might want to check out the link I posted for Maylene&tSoD. Redneck metal is catchy. LOL I guess as a Southern boy I'm predisposed to liking that kind of stuff though. :P

@Splendid: I've been going there since I was a kid. I love that place, and there's always enough changes/additions to keep me coming back.
