I guess the best way to tell a story is to start at the beginning. I am a Kentucky born girl, 34 years old, the mother of one 14 year old son (who, by the way, will be the best catcher anyone has seen since Johnny Bench). I'm a single, hard working parent, who has struggled with weight since 1975 (yes, at birth)!

I had my son at 20 and I was around, 155 lbs, but the stress of being a young mother, working two jobs, and going to school took its toll. If that weren't enough, I cared for my young mother, who died of cancer 2 years ago. After her death my family (6 brothers, my dad and me) fell apart. My way of greiving was to get another degree and add on about 90 lbs. With that came high blood pressure, gastric issues, and achy joints. Enough is enough already!!!!!

I feel as if I have grieved sufficiently and I am ready to begin my life over. I am more focused than I have ever been before and I have more faith to succeed. I don't need motivation, I just need some support. To tell you the truth, I have no support, none of my friends are overweight, so they can't understand, and I am too afraid to be in a relationship for fear of being judged or dumped for being a fatty, but that's another story. So here I am, open, honest, and ready to change. I don't want to rock big girl style anymore, I need to get my life together and get in shape.

How much can your weight fluctuate during the day/from day to day?
Your body absorbs water.

I do exactly what your dietician said, I weigh myself after using the bathroom, before a shower, the same time and in the same place every week, minus clothes.

How often should I weigh myself?
I weigh myself once a week and I measure myself once a month. Women have too many fluctations to do more than that-of course that is just my opinion. I know I don't want to be a slave to the scale, but I have to know the numbers, that is important.

Okay to Skip Meals?
Sometimes I skip meals because I am just not hungry. Eating when I'm not hungry got me up to 270lbs, so if I'm not hungry I don't eat. That also doesn't meant that I overeat the next day, either. So, I have to disagree with Jillian.
