Diana 1234's Journal, 03 January 2024

I went to my monthly meeting with my nutritionist. Wasn’t a surprise, resting biceps were 11.8 and 11.9, waist was up a inch at 31”, thighs were 21.7 each. Arms lost about 1/2” but that’s due to lesser weight lifting on upper body. Thighs stayed roughly the same. I feel like that’s because I was able to continue lower body exercises 2weeks after heart procedure. Waist is definitely up from junk eating…I haven’t lost gained weight as quick as I’d like but I’m still moving forward. I have been doing pretty well macro wise but I could be eating cleaner. More raw vegetables and less processed foods. Nutritionist reminded me the difference between eating more complex carbs and less simple carbs…I know when I eat less processed foods I feel better so that’s the route I’m going. Also thank you all that responded to my post about Sydney’s surgery. She had a very good day yesterday. She even played with her “babies” for a bit. She is doing better with holding her urine and making it outside so she doesn’t have an accident. I’m still taking her out about every 45 minutes so she can empty her bladder. I swear last night when I got up to let her out for the upteenth time, she actually rolled her eyes at me! She is a character for sure! She is so resilient and I think being home where she feels safe and loved really helped her recovery. Her Vet called yesterday to check on her. He said that him and his son did the surgery together and it was one of the most difficult ones he has seen in a long time. Again, the long term prognosis isn’t as good as we hoped but he also said that she did well and we obviously take good care of her, so who knows…

Morning D. Sounds like considering you are doing very well and will get back to where you want to be when you can. Nice to hear Sydney is settling in.

I'm trying to eat less processed foods as well. It's not easy, because processed foods are so easy! I would love to have a freezer full of Lean Cuisines so I don't have to think about what to it. That's what I did when working when shooting processed foods wasn't a big deal yet. So glad Sydney is better. Do you put her water bowl away at night so she won't have to go out so much at night? Or wouldn't that make a difference? Bobby doesn't roll his eyes at me, but he does give me dirty looks when I tell him to move when he's propped up against my bad knee

Liv, thanks, I hope I can do what I know works for me. Sometimes it’s hard..my frame of mind needs to be adjusted….💜 Bigfeed, I think a lot of us struggled this season…hope things get better!💜 Fritzy, I wish I could get back to a better mindset…I am doing ok but don’t have much passion for things that used to bring me joy. I love working out, lately it’s a chore..same with good eating..l just need to have a major attitude adjustment. I don’t have a lot of processed foods in the house anymore except for Joes sweet treats…luckily I don’t like Oreos, Amos chocolate chip cookies, Nutty Buddy, Oreo cakesters, breakfast pastries, etc.. He can eat 2 of the for mentioned snacks at night and doesn’t gain…but I keep telling him how bad they are for his body…he also rolls his eyes at me, 🥹 Soeaking of Joe, he is sick. He has a bad cold. No sore throat though so I haven’t tested him for Covid. Have a great day Fritzy💜

I've been craving cookies lately. The grocery store in the next town has a great bakery department. I love their molasses cookies and they also do a pineapple upside down cake AND they have have several kinds of cakes that you buy just a square big enough for 2 to share, although I eat it all! I need to go to the town to pick up my prescription glasses. Maybe I'll wait until the cravings stop!

Fritzy, probably a good idea! I'm craving chocolate again! I heard if you eat protein it curbs your desire for chocolate...I'm gonna try it! Just had oatmeal made with premier protein premade shakes. Off to body pump class..rainy weather here today. Can't wait to come home and light a fire in our fireplace.

Diana im so so glad to hear Sydney is doing better. Sometimes getting back in the groove of working out and eating right is cyclical. The old phrase fake it till you make it comes to mind. There are many times (especially currently) when i dont feel like going out in the cold crappy rainy windy weather and walk for 75 minutes or do that walk and walk to trainer and spend 45 minutes getting my fanny kicked by her. But i just do it. Im always glad after it’s over. Summer is coming. Motivation always seems to come easier when the sun is shining and it’s warm outside. You just push thru and I would bet it comes back to you shortly. Especially as you start making strength gains. The surgery you went thru is very scary even if it is considered “routine” it is scary. Messing with your heart in any capacity. Serious serious procedure. Give yourself some grace and go thru the motions till you feel the fervor again. You are super inspirational so remember that as well. You help people by your example. God bless you sis. Xoxo
