MrsDuval1022's Journal, 30 January 2014

So when I started, January 2013, I was 230 lbs. Now it is January 2014, And Im at 175ish. Everyone is telling me I look amazing. I have people tell me they are jealous, that they dont think I should lose anymore etc... But right now I am feeling kind of down about it all. I know I am doing great. I reached my first goal by the end of 2013. But I just still kind of see myself as I was still, and I dont understand it. I just want to be a size nine or smaller by the time of my wedding which is June 22 of this year!! Im now in an 11/13 Compared to the 16/18 But with my body build I am slightly afraid I wont make it... :/ Am I the only one alone here, because it sure feels like no one can understand why I am feeling like this. Just have to keep my head up I guess.

You are doing a fantastic job of getting to your goal. The truth is that you would be a beautiful bride no matter your actual size. You have chosen to do what you can to bring a most healthy you to your marriage. Doubt steals motivation. Send it packing. It is also true that it takes the mind a while to adjust to physical changes and acknowledge that you are the same wonderful you when you look different. Ask yourself what being heavier helped you avoid and then find new ways of dealing with those things. Remember, days of depressing thoughts are just moments in time and will pass. Exercise sometimes helps this. You have courage to do what you want to do or you would not have begun this journey and come this far already. Good luck. J

MrsDuval1022....you are doing great. Reading those numbers and the progress you have made across the span of a YEAR, demonstrates your COMMITTMENT to achieve your goal. Hang in there, don't let the season of the mind games get you all turned around. Not only is June 22 six months away, but you have the rest of your life before you. Your goal is very achievable - keep looking for that healthy support (just like you did) when you need that shot in the arm. Keep on, keepin on!

Thank you very much for the support. And June 22nd is six months away. I just get overwhelmed with everything. I have my fiance who is an absolutely amazing support. Its just nice to have others too. And working out is my bestfriend when I am feeling down it just seems to make everything else just disappear. Again thank you both! Just an off day for me tonight lol.

Forget the stupid comment someone makes about not losing too much. I have two super almost anorexic sister-in-laws who tell me that. I have determined that they are jealous. You set your goals and do not let anyone tell you what to do. You know your own body better than anyone. You will reach that goal by June. Look at what you have done already. You rock, and you will be a stunning bride. Your fiancé will be beaming on that beautiful day and you will have the pictures to prove it. :)

I get that way too sometimes, I feel like I am never going to make it to my goal, even though I have surpassed all expectations that I have had. If people are telling you that they are jealous, well, that would be why they want you to stop losing weight, they think it makes them look bad! Just try to be an inspiration to someone else:) In doing so, you may find that you motivate yourself along the way:):)

I am with you. I get the same looks, and the same comments, I am in the best shape of my life right now and I am still unsatisfied. DO NOT let these feelings depress you or shy you away from what you are doing. We are human, it is in our nature to always hunger for more, USE IT! feed that hunger by carrying on even harder than you ever have before!

Just looking at your food diary, your protein number is fantastic...but your sources not so much...Try replacing the white breads with whole grain ones, and spread your calories out a bit, eat more meals spread throughout the day, eating more than 300 or 400 calories in a single meal will lead to fat storage, eating 5-6 meals per day will spread it out and keep you from being hungry. Personally I eat 8 meals per day, but I'm eating a lot of food to feed my training right now. Also try to cut back on the salt!

I switch up my workouts daily, and try to do a lot of full body workouts. And thank you for the insight on the food intake. I generally just eat what I am making for my kids, though yesterday was a cheat day for me. Everyone has such helpful insights I really enjoy this! :)

I have a friend who lost half her body size after lapband surgery. Although she looks great, she admitted that she doesn't necessarily see the change when she looks in the mirror. Sometimes it's hard to let go and see the changes that others see. Please don't forget to take care of your mind and your soul too, it isn't just physical. Good luck, and congratulations on the wedding!
