Carmel8sons's Journal, 17 October 2010

Today small bit better in spirit but think my crying bout yester made my chest worse, I'm choking, Kids asked me was I a secret smoker, thats how bad it sounds like. HA HA.

So off def to doc tomorrow, time for a decent antibiocit. Reading a lot of journals today, and most of us dying with cheat infections or just over them. I started thinking are we all cutting so much out or yo-yoing that are bodies are screaming out to us, also a lot of us down, I do suffer from SADD but weather here is beautiful, sun is shining most days and its a hot sun. So thats not my problem this week. But I wonder what you all think. Do we need to all start vitamin tablets and take them, My sister wants me to take SARATTONA, (may not have spelt that right so someone correct me).So any Advice anyone.

Hope you all having gr8 Sunday and those feeling ill or down My Love and thoughts with YOU ALL. Heres the Hug Sandy sent me (((HUG)))

Carmel, I already take vitamins. My daily routine is calcium w/vitamin D and a fish oil tab in the am with breakfast, pm routine is a centrum women's over 50 multi-vitamin and another fish oil tab. In addition to that I drink alot of soy and snack on edemame to help with the side affects of menopause which has actually been a breeze which is good because I refuse to go thru any hormone therapy. I am not about 7 months period free and my doc says once you are one year free you are through it. I started with these vitamins when I noticed changes in my cycle, less frequent and less duration. My doc said the vitamin regimin has probably helped with the usual symptomology. I think I will put a forum question out there about how menopause is affecting weight loss.

Thanks HealthBabs, about memopause, I never stopped bleeding for about 6-8 yrs, constant bleed, was worn out from it, then In Jan it just stopped. Doc sent me for the menopause test then, said I was not going thru it, but I know these test are unreliable. My stomach does get uncomfortable end of each months but still nothing. But I feel I just was lucky and flew through it. But be carefull you can get pregnat very easy whilst going through first yr. Happened tp few pals of mine and also my mum.

It's good to hear you're a little bit better, even if it's just a tiny bit. Glad you're going to the doctor to see about your chest infection; those can be quite serious and are not to be fooled around with.

Serotonin? I think it's an amino acid that works in the brain...anti-depressents (SSRIs: serotonin reuptake inhibitors) help to balance it. I take iron & zinc, calcium & vitamin D, I seem to have misplaced a huge bottle of multi-vitamins so I haven't been taking them. :/ I've heard it's harder than Hades to lose weight after menopause...after one hasn't had a period for year or more. I guess it means working harder at what is already hard as Hades!! I hope your cold goes away soon. It sucks that you're feeling not so hot when the weather is so lovely at such an unexpected time.

Hi there: so sorry you're not feeling the best, and yes, it's time to see the doc' if just to get your chest checked out. Could you be a touch anaemic? If you were bleeding for years? I've not had a period since April but these hot flushes are a pain, especially at night. Luckily I don't need to worry about getting pregnant (gawd: at 51?) unless hubby's operation grows back...
