Hey! Hit a major goal today!!! I've lost 40 lbs :) I have ten more to go and then reassess, but I'm thrilled to be 40 pounds lighter than I was 8 months ago.

Today is Day 28 of Insanity, and the beginning of Recovery Week. It's six days of the same workout - Core Cardio and Balance. Okay, it really ISN'T as tough as the rest of the workouts so far. There is one that I just really can't do much of and it's this bent leg lift thing. I don't know whether its the hip flexor that's weak, or the lower abs, or both, but it's a tough one. The rest was doable and for about 38 min. and burned about 275 calories. Not a lot, but oh well. Have things to take care of today - it's my son's 22nd birthday! Dinner will be tough - he wants pesto with chicken and garlic bread...oh my. I'll have to find a substitute. And wants chocolate cheesecake. That'll be tougher for me to pass up. Cheesecake? If God handed out desserts, I'm sure it would be cheesecake.

Did Slim in 6 yesterday, probably won't get to it today.

40 lbs. is awesome!!! Congrats on reaching that milestone! I skipped my workout today because my knee was hurting and I decided to give it a day of rest. I looked at Jillian's Yoga workout and her 30 day Shred. Oh my God - all the jumping jacks in the 30 day Shred - I'll never be able to do it. The Yoga looks pretty tough too. I'll stick with the tape I am doing now until I master it then try one of the others.

40 pounds!!!! How awesome! I am so happy for you. I started Slim in 6 today. Was a good workout. Have a problem with the lunges and squats due to the knees, but did the modified version.

Wow, I'm beat. I want to thank all of you for your congratulations, though, before I go to bed. Klannoye..did NOT want you to feel left out! Besides, everyone can make ONE dish that's decent, even me. :) AND...the cheesecake was awesome! Damnit. Two of my favorite sweets rolled into one - snickers chunks in the cheesecake. Really? How can you resist! I'm stuck...WWDC? maybe we should stop the anacronyms! LOL Thanks, suechru...feels good to say that nice, round number! Thanks, Datadoll - you'll get there before you know it. Andrea, thanks! And sometimes we need to make sure our body isn't injured before carrying on, so hopefully the day of rest helped you heal. Try ice after the next work out - it helps so much more than you'd think (ice pack, frozen peas, etc) You can try the modified version of jumping jacks, too. I was quite surprised at how difficult her yoga one is, but then, I've never done yoga so have no experience to fall back on for that one. I think the one you're doing will really help and get you prepared to try others later on. The 30 Day Shred is a tough workout! Info...you silly! That massive one WEEK loss of one POUND will most likely be back in the morning after pasta AND garlic bread AND cheesecake. Holy cow...do people really EAT like this? :) I'll pass you the birthday wishes from you, too. Ctlss - thanks, it IS awesome. I know it's just "a number", but it makes me feel good saying it :) Doing the modified version is a GREAT idea. I'd still try the ice packs after the workout. It's becoming a daily habit for me now and I'm feeling better about my knees again. I was a bit worried for awhile, wondering if I was doing some serious damage.

Hi redwinelover! Yesterday I incorporated some of Jillian's exercises into my own exercise routine and it felt quite good so, so far so good there. I didn't eat very well though. Also, I liked the idea of doing the leg lifting and arm moving when I cannot finish the circuit. Thanks.

Awesome job! That's so great and yes I agree on the cheesecake thing. Have you ever tried the cheesecake yogurt? It is pretty good. ANyway back to how awesome you are! YAAAAYYYY!

Info, that's great! And thanks :) (I obviously didn't eat well yesterday, myself!)

tephraim2 - thanks! And I have tried the cheesecake yogurt and used to like it (can't really tolerate any of the flavored, sweetened yogurts anymore, though- completely spoiled by Greek style yogurt now!)...but when I DID eat them...couldn't really touch real cheesecake. Oh gosh...and this one had Snickers chunks in it, too! Holy cow...two amazing treats rolled into one. I just wouldn't have had the strength to sit and have a yogurt while everyone else is eating my favorite dessert ON the planet! I'm not THAT strong! tee-hee...It's over and done with for now... I'm not exactly feeling like I'm awesome today... sheepish look on my face....pasta, bread, cheesecake...WHAT was I THINKING! Guess I need to get in there and work out! Thanks for the vote of confidence :)
