My name is Andrea and I live in Tennessee, I have a husband and two daughters, one is 30 and lives in Washington state w/my two grandsons and the other daughter is 19 and goes to college full time. I am on Adkins Induction Phase which I plan to stay on until I lose down to my last 25 lbs. (I have 100 lbs. to lose). I have lost 15 lbs. on Adkins since Feb. 8th when I weighed 255 to start. I am also diabetic and have high blood pressure so I need to get the weight off to improve my health.

Calories
I am able to eat yogurt and cottage cheese so lack of calcium is not an issue and I am also eating fruit and plenty of vegetables so I get plenty of antioxidants. I do not eat any higher amts of protein than I did in a normal diet so there are no problems affecting my kidneys or bones. And the Atkins diet reduces cholesterol and triglycerides. There is no proof that the Atkins diet leads to heart disease.

k8yk - why are you trying to make fun of me - I've always been nice to you. I am having a bad day because my husband may have prostate cancer and I don't appreciate being laughed at and called grouchy for standing up for my way of life.
