Naiomy's Journal, 25 July 2012

alright..still off the scale (good thing b/c i started my tom and i woulda been devastated) but i've been doing awesome these last few days.. had 3 really good runs this week... have progressed quickly.. went from BARELY getting in 1.9 miles in 30 mins to 2.19 today in 30... i can def see me taking this to my goal of 3 miles in 30 if i keep this up...

physically i'm looking better.. and feeling stronger, my legs are getting pretty solid which i love!.. i really wanna get back to strength training but right now i need to be happy getting some exercise in from none at all...

still here, still hoping to weigh in this week and have some good news :)

THANKS CJT!!... i knew u'd be the first word of encouragement lol.. i'm not super fast by any means.. but coming from never running more than 1 minute without dying, i'm super proud of how far i've come!.

That's awesome! I have taken your advise and decided to step off the scale for a while. Need to stop obessing bc it seems stupid after a while :) A little break is definately necessary. Nice, also, on the running. I'm trying to get there myself.

i think the scale break has allowed me to focus more on how i look and feel and stay motivated... i mean literally anything affected my weight.. i could have eaten a salad for dinner and been up... then eaten a steak and gone down.. there's no telling.. i was sad to have to reflect the increase... and it screwed with my head a bit at first.. but since i've been off of it i've been really focused on my physical appearance and my fitness.. its really helped.. i almost DON'T want to weigh in..but i think i need to lol

great job stepping up the running. you're be surprised with how quickly you can improve. keep working at it, and one day soon we'll be reading about your first 5K! :)

It's good to be in tune with your body and not have to rely on tools and instruments to gauge your success. The feeling of more energy and improvement in the mirror is definitely good enough for me! As for running, I hear ya! I used to SUCK HORRIBLY at running. I'd lumber along like a dumptruck. For work, my run is a component in fitness evals, so I kept telling myself that the only way to get better at running is to practice. So I went to the extreme and started running up hills. Haha. Good gains there ;) So keep it up! You'll get that 10 minute mile in no time!

@cjt that is def motivating... and based on my little run tracker i use i am technically running some of my morning jog at that speed, however its about keeping it up for the whole mile lol... the interval workout i created for myself has really kept me pushing... i feel if i keep those up i may see a better time... we will see!..thanks again for ur words tho... u have no idea how much it helps me push when i wanna quit!
