So after walk/jogging for the past month or so I have come to the conclusion that jogging just isn't for me. I "can" jog but it hurts my shins. Now I want to lose weight so I have stopped doing the jogging thing.
Now I was looking on the web and there is this activity called race walking. It is supposed to burn more calories than running and walking. I am going to try it. I read people start this when they are walking a 10 to 15 minute mile so what the hey. I still am using my GPS pedometer and can track what I do and it appears from today's walk that I can maintain a fast walk speed and even get into a slow jog speed when walking. I did the same 5 miles that I did yesterday and I finished 3 minutes slower. Now that isn't bad.
I have upped my walking speed from 1 mph to 4 mph - 4.5 mph. That is when I try to walk fast so I am going to try and race walk for at least the rest of the weight I have left to lose. The only tutor I have for this is the internet btw.

I haven't weighed in for a bit now and that's mainly because I haven't been eating well. Scratch that, I have been eating too well. After the past holiday I ate like there was no tomorrow and 4 miles a day even at a walk/jog pace wasn't seeming to cut it. I try and do at least 6 miles now and I am seeing the scale move again.
Today's walk/jog;
5 miles then 1.58 miles cool down.
I think I will post total miles walked from now on instead of dividing the miles I walk and walk/jog.

Merry Xmas to me! I was given an elliptical today. The lady said she wasn't using it and she had a treadmill and a home gym already so she gave it to me. Remember that cold weather people are complaining about? Well I can just stay in and do my elliptical thing. That and I got an Xbox with dancing games and Your Shape 2012 so this is an awesome ending to the year. The only problem I have is my dogs won't be able to go get exercise. They have gotten to following me around the park on my little walks and that's exercise for them. I'm sure they need it to but this site is about people so I won't go into that. They are the reason I go to the park in the first place though.
It was very cold today but I still walked. It was colder yesterday. I am back to the weight I was before my family came for Turkeyday so that's good.
Today's walk/jog;
5.01 miles then I walked for another 2.03 miles at the park
The reason I differentiate between walk/jog and walk is because the walk is broken up and has some stops in it. The walk/jog doesn't.

I was soooooooooooo hungry yesterday. I have a 24 pack of Heath candy bars in the refrigerator just looking at me. I have done this and will do this again. I won't let any food item get the best of me. heh It's like I am battling with food but aren't we all on this site. I have taken to writing again on this site.
It was very cold today at the park. It wasn't that it was cold really but the Vegas wind just cuts through clothes like a knife. The cars temperature read 41 degrees but the wind made it feel like it was like 30 degrees. I walked with my walk partner and was going to go home but I figured I wouldn't get the gumption to do anything if I went home without walking so I forced myself to walk.
Today's walk/jog;
2.32 miles with a friend and 4.26 miles walk/jogging

Hey there journal. I haven't added anything because well I haven't wanted to. Nothing much has happened. I am now back on track though. my family came for Thanksgiving weekend, stayed for 5 days, and I ate buffets everyday they were here. That wasn't the bad part. I ate candy and pizza and McDonalds. That was after they left.
Today is the day that it all ends. I am back to my salads and sandwiches. I gained a little of the weight I had lost back but I am still 100 lbs lighter. Actually 103 lbs so I gained about 4 lbs since I fell off the routine. It doesn't matter because I am back on track and I have 50 some more lbs to go.

2.34 miles with a friend I am helping and
4 miles walk/jogging
