Row #39 on the books, twenty minutes HIIT. I need to choose with more purpose, i think. I need some workouts with a build in them to compliment the HIIT stuff. Yesterday was good, managed a decent swim with some backup goggles and everything hung together for the entire thirty minutes. Wore that cute little sunset suit I found at Costco for $10. I really like that one, need t remember to look for that size and style rather than just grabbing whatever they have in stock which is what I usually do. 852 strokes, 10.7METs, heart rate didn’t take, but I was steady the entire time so I’m going to say it was in zones 2-3, which is what I needed given the disaster the day before. Took the day off from walking to spend as much time with Jim as possible while he’s still in town.

I need to take some measurements this weekend. My legs are looking very different from the start of this challenge and I think the rowing compliments my daily walks. my quads tend to overpower everything else and they are looking leaner to me and I am my own biggest critic. Calves are good, walking up hills does that. The bruise on my foot is spectacular, it’s gone from purplish red to brownish so far, I’m eagerly awaiting the fade into yellow. I feel like my gut is shrinking, but It is a constant battle to engage abs correctly when I’m getting tired.

Rowing itself has gotten much easier as reflected in my heart rate, I adjusted the damper up a notch last night, but i need to rewatch the video on how it works to do it right. At the end of the day, I think it comes down to the strength behind my pull and i want to make sure I maintain form overall. Speaking of form, rowing seems to be great for posture. I’m definitely sitting and standing with less of a slouch. So maybe there is hope for fighting all that computer time.

Blob up, muscle down, water down. Weekend rules, press on, press on.

Happy 5th of July! If you made it this far, you’ve made it through the fireworks, the gunfire and the partying. LOL
I’m glad that people were in the celebrating mood last night. We went to our usual spot with a slightly different angle and enjoyed the view with our neighbors. It’s a big enough space for a gathering, but not so big that it’s overwhelming. BF came home for a few days, time together is precious.

Row #38, 30 minutes hard, tried to take a swim, but it was a disaster with three different pairs of goggles breaking. Granted, all of them were old/backup, but frustrating. I’m going to try and put together something today out of the pieces parts and have ordered new ones. If all else fails, i can grab a pair at Target later. I just don’t want to lose the entire weekend to equipment failure. Thankfully, all this happened early enough that I could grab the special deals for the 4th.

Lame stats. 790 strokes, 8.3 METs, average heart rate 132. I did spend 17 minutes in cardio, no doubt due to the fits and starts of that session. Grumbling aside, the weather is fabulous and I probably should have just played in the water after the second pair broke. I’m too stubborn. I did try to swim without any after the timer, but swimming against the current is too hard without goggles. I need to be able to see where I am to stay in the middle of the stream.

Current plan is to row, eat, yard work, swim. Will walk dogs after it cools down tonight.

Blob holding, muscle up, everything else staying around the same. Press on, press on.
