Hi Virginia, I have a question. When you say that you are following your own diet what does that mean? You also say that you are keeping your carbs under 150 per day. If I followed that advise, I would be falling asleep all day long. Do yourself a favor get on line and look up Ketogenic diet. I follow that and it is basically a high fat, low carb diet. and I mean very low carb. I to keep my carbs under 30 carbs a day. I have been on this diet for several months after being atkins. the difference is the amount of fat. I was hypoglysimic ? how do you spell that? It is not a fad diet, although your doctor might not agree. Many well respected specialist and researchers uphold this kind of eating for health and well being. I did not go on it for weight loss, but to feel better. It is an anti inflamatory And, it is amazing. I had severe back pain which is much less, my hands were swollen and I could not get my rings on Now I can. My mind is much clearer and my mood is much improved. Can you tell that I am very enthused about how I feel following this program. I do not even call it diet, because if I NEVER LOSE A POUND I will continue eating this way. Another suggestionis to search for Dietdoctor.Com. On it, I searched for Rheumatic disease and it has a testimonial from a woman who was extremely disabled who feels so much better with LC//HF. If you go to that sit and search for that, you can read her story. Not RA exactly but the same area of disorders. This doctor is from Scandinavia, he has information from all kinds of specialists, including one for diabetes and related conditions. There are a few groups on this site that follow this diet. LCHF/keto evangelism. It is a good one. Check out One even is for being healthy. I would that it would be very beneficial for your RA

low carb, high fat
Yea! the scale is going down. no only that I have been experiencing Keto Flu. But I am evidently out of that. Today, I am all full of energy. Last night the flu did not appear. My neck pain from a bulging disc is 75% better. I also have spinal stenosis in the low back. I saw a surgeon last for both for that because of the severe pain. He did not offer surgery as it would not be helpful because so many discs were involved. He also declined to do surgery on the neck, because of the position of the bulge, he did not believe that it would relieve that pain. He said that I would need surgery for many discs. He said that he oculd not tell which one or ones was causing the pain. Even my restless leg is subsiding. It no longer wakes me up with it. At that point, I used to have to take my medication for restless leg and have to be up for at 45 min in a dark house. I sometimes do not ever get back to sleep. I have slept through the night for the last two night.

Another great thing that has happened is that a pair of pants that 4 days ago were very snug and I could not button. Today I can button with only a bit of pulling to do so.Smile It's almost 3:30 and I have not felt the need to eat lunch nor to have I needed to take a Vicoden.

I figured it out! Yea. I thought that LCHF: Low carb, High fat/Ketogenic Diet was a group. For the life of me I could not get it into that group. Duh, it isn't a group. Now I have joined a group. I am no longer confused at least not about that. I am sure that I will be confused about other things

how do I join a group. I already asked but I cannot follow the directions, which were to go into the group and it would say on the right -join group or leave group. Good directions if I could figure out the first step. How would I go into the group to join. I can go into the group posts but evidently that is not it. As you can tell I am seriously computer illiterate. Sad Confused Embarassed
