my first 5K. discuss!
I began training for my first 5k last week, and it has been going well thus far. I am not a runner, and aside from running about a mile every day when I was in highschool, this is all ive done as far a an actual "physical challenge" goes.

As the weeks go by, Im wondering how I will be able to stay motivated.

1. my first plan of attack was joining a training class at a local gym. Yes a "running class". not to learn how to run, but learn how to train my body and mind for a race.

2. tell any and everybody I know. It sounds silly but this works for me! the way I see it, the more people I tell the more people will ask how its going. who wants to say "well actually im a bum and couldnt stick to running a 3.2 mile race thats 2 months away" NOT THIS GIRL.

soooo i want to know- how do YOU stay motivated?! Smile

Bad Foods
Its these kinds of things that make you feel like you cannot eat ANYTHING. one article will praise fruits and veg. and the next will tell you the complete opposite.

spinning- my new best friend
A friend and I found one of the higher end gyms in our area was doing a FREE week membership (full access) so we quickly printed off our coupons.

For the past few nights weve gone to the hour spinning class, and man oh man do i feel great! I had been to a class before so I knew what I was in for..

these classes are FUN and the instructors and music make that strenious- pouring sweat- hour fly by. You can burn anywhere from 500-800 calories per class. lastnight I reached about 750.

If you havent done this, you MUST try it. theyre are people of all ages and it makes you feel wonderful!!!

to cleanse or not to cleanse..
I must admit.. the topic frightens me a little bit. I dont know much about cleansing and wouldnt know where to begin. Any suggestions on where to start and how to find something that isnt harsh, and right for me?
