It's Corelicious this week. Corelicious is a local food festival put on by various restaurants in the downtown core; it follows the format of a three- or four-course prix fixe menu. Some friends invited us out to one of the participating restaurants this evening and we accepted... but now I'm getting cold feet.
Vacationing last week meant we ate out for at least one meal, sometimes two meals, a day. As much as I'm looking forward to spending time with our friends, a three course meal is going to blow my calorie count out of the water today. I know, I know, it's just one night. But I'm doing so well and I don't want to sabotage my progress.
I'll just have to remind myself that it's okay to leave food on my plate and order water instead of wine.

Bit of a setback what with going away for the long weekend. I had every intention of doing my best to stick with the diet; I chopped and prepared various fruits & veggies beforehand to take with me, and although we also had a kitchenette in the condo we rented (and a grocery store two blocks away), we still ended up dining out most of the time. I'm not mad or disappointed that I've gained. Setbacks happen and I knew this weekend was going to be very difficult and filled with temptation. It is what it is. :)
