Had my 12 wk US and genetic counseling appointment this week for the baby. The ultrasound went VERY well! We spent time giggling about how active our little stinker is and even got mooned at one point LOL. Doc checked for some warning flags in physical makeup that might indicate disability (since I am what is considered "advanced maternal age"). Everything looked good, but we did some bloodwork too to get a more complete picture- won't get results for a few weeks though. But, with that bloodwork we will be able to find out the sex of the baby instead of having to wait until a 20wk US, which is really cool. Eating has been a challenge lately, as I have felt nauseated often. I have been craving fruits like crazy (which isn't too terrible I guess). Have had to relinquish wearing regular clothing as my belly is getting too big to fit in things that don't stretch LOL. It's kind of ironic that I have spent the last year taking OFF weight, and now am actually looking forward to putting it back on (as it is a sign of our fantastic journey ahead). We went to the lake last weekend as it was BEAUTIFUL and sunny finally. Got a bit of a sunburn, but it was a blast. I can't wait to spend some summer nights around a campfire and listening to the sounds of the natural world. Planning a trip to Lake of the Ozarks to camp in mid-May which will be great. Also planning on a Yellowstone/Grand Teton vacation (RVing)toward the end of summer. I have never been there and even though I won't be able to hike much due to being VERY pregnant by then, it will still be fantastic to see the scenery and wildlife. I hope everyone has a very blessed Easter season!!!

Hello all! I know I have been very absent on the site for a while. I haven't forgotten about you all, but have been extremely busy! It also doesn't help that I don't have internet at my house anymore (ah the joys of being in the country LOL). UPDATE: I haven't given up on my weight loss goals, but those losses have to be put on hold for a while because...I AM PREGNANT!!!!! WOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!! My SO and I have been trying for over a year and we finally did it! We are currently 9w3d along and have had 2 wonderful ultrasounds so far with fantastic, strong heartbeats. First appointment had a HB of 163 bpm. This week, we clocked it at 174bpm. Our little nugget is healthy and active even this early! So, that being said, I am still trying to eat pretty clean (even though I definitely am getting hormonal urges in the food dept). I am just not keeping such a strict eye on LCHF. I am definitely allowing myself more fruits and a few complex carbs (which seem to help my morning sickness). I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

So for those of you that have seen me post in the past, you will remember that I have always been determined to lose the weight I want to lose. I have also always been one to tell folks to own your mistakes and not let those mistakes determine your fate. Instead, use the mistakes as learning experiences and move on. Well, that being said, I have made a mistake....a HUGE mistake. I allowed myself to believe that I could have a "cheat" day and go back to plan the following day with no long-term consequences. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!! That cheat day turned into a cheat week...month etc. Now here I am, having gained 10-ish lbs back and feeling more miserable than ever. So here it is: I start back on plan tomorrow, strict keto, exercise plan in effect. I WILL lose this weight, I will NOT fail. I know I can do this, it's a matter of not letting this set back undermine my will to succeed. My appearances on this site will be spotty at best as I no longer have internet at my house. (Ah the joys of living in the country now LOL). I will give the mobile app a try though. Wish me luck!

Ok sorry I have been away for about a week or so again. I had surgery on the 11th and it turned out to be a HUGE ordeal LOL. The surgeon knew he was going to be fixing multiple hernias for me, but he didn't figure on my ENTIRE abdomen being herniated. He ended up fixing something like 15 hernias in total. Now I feel like a truck hit me :) It was originally planned to be an outpatient surgery, but because of the massive amount of damaged he had to repair, they kept me overnight and didn't release me till about 6pm on Tues evening. I am now at home recovering and things are going well for the most part. I am still extremely sore (and will be for quite some time I imagine). My belly looks like swiss cheese LOL (they did like 15 laparoscopic incisions). But, I can get out of bed, up and down the stairs (slowly), to and from the restroom and to the computer, so all in all Life is good. I hope everyone has had a wonderful week. I am looking forward to each day's recovery process and am ecstatic that this issue is FINALLY fixed.
