I am a family physician with a strong family history of stroke and cholesterol problems. At one point I was closer to 200 lbs and my blood pressure and cholesterol were worse. I have been steady in the upper 180s for a while. I still have a bit of weight to lose to get to my ideal and I am really not very fit! At one point about 4 years ago I was lean and weighed 170 and felt great. Hey, maybe I can get off cholesterol medication. Physician Heal Thyself!

In my practice I enjoy helping my patients with fitness and health concerns, because I know it is hard to do. I'm liking this tool and have been telling folks about it.

creativity on a 1200 cal diet?
Learn to cook veges and be creative with them. Especially green ones which are always filling and cost almost no calories. Don't worry about recipies. Just use the following formula for a 100 different versions:
1. teaspoon of oil (olive, walnut, seseme) heat in a pan (33 cals)
2. toss in aromatic bulb or herbs and flavor the oil a bit: chopped garlic or onion or chives or fresh thyme or fresh basil or chopped ginger root
3. a big pile of green vege such as chopped kale, spinach, green beans, chard, sprouts, celery, zuchini, broccoli, peapods, etc stir fry until just barely cooked. Only the water to wash them, no more, except for kale which needs a little to cook in
4. Salt and pepper to taste. (or soy sauce instead of salt)
5.optional to mix it up: something with -tang- a dash of lemon juice, mustard, balsamic vinegar, salsa, fresh tomato

Serve along side whatever else you are having, yum and filling.

I also find I can eat a large quantity of green stuff in soup. A can of chunky soup is 200cal, that plus a huge pile of green veges mixed in is very filling and makes a 250cal meal.

Excercise form entry help
I figured out that if you haven't done your first "weigh in" even though you put in your starting weight at the beginning it will not calulate your calories burned on the exercise calendar. This appears to be a glitch.
