Hi all-
First of all, i must tell you that I'm new to computers. Ok, onto my bio. I'm in my early 50's, lost 65 pounds 2 years ago, and am concerned about the few pounds that i've put back on. I've gained and lost weight my whole life, and want that to end!
I guess i joined this website to look for some support,to communicate with people who are on the same journey. I go to weight watchers ( lifetime member ) and exercise regularly. My newest goal is to be conscious of my food intake, maintain a healthy weight, and nurish a balanced life.

trying to get started
Stacy- I, like everyone else who responded, knows where you're at. The entire journey is hard, but so worth it! What I found most helpful is writing down everything that goes into your mouth, going to the meetings, and exercising. Really think about the weigh ins-how good you'll feel when the numbers either stay the same or go down. For myself, the most wonderful thing that's happened since I lost weight is that I don't feel as self conscious. It takes time- the pounds didn't come on in a month, or two, or six, and they won't come off fast either, but, as they say, the turtle won the race, not the hare! Stay in touch

Over 50 with same 60 lbs
hi all-
I am in the same boat as the rest of you. lost 65 pounds 2 years ago with ww and exercise, and now feel it creaping back...just like all the other times. Help! i want to make this the last time I lose only to gain it back. Could really use buddies to have that extra support. In addition, I'm new to computers in general, so I'm slowly learning how to get around this website.

can't get motivated
hi-
After years of trying to get and stay motivated, I tryed another approach. I didn't think about it, just did it. I joined a gym 2 years ago, and put the gym bag in the car. In my mind all i thought was " get to the gym- walk in. Even if you just stand there, you have to stay for 30 minutes." At first, I went on the bike for 10 minutes, then stretched for 10 minutes, then sat and listened to music on my i-pod for 10 minutes. Slowly but surely, I increased the time and intensity of the exercise. I hope this doesn't sound preachy, but for me, thinking about exercise just gave me more time to make excuses why i couldn't.

weight watchers
hi-
it does matter where the points come from. I have found that having protein with every meal keeps me full longer. Why aren't you planning on going to the meetings?
