I'm over 50 & thought I was doing pretty good with my weight, but I love Hummus & Baba Ghanoush, too much. Living in a country where woman can't work & the temp is 131 in the shade is harder than people think. Because I stay in doors, I sit infront of the TV & do counted cross stitch. And of coarse eat more than I should or need. My Father, Brother & Brother-in-law resently had heartattacks & my Mother is Diabetic. I don't want this to happen to me. So a week ago I started to use a treadmill for 45 to 60 min. every morning. Yesterday I started drinking water, alot.

How does YOUR weight come off?
I weight myself every morning before breakfast & wear the same clothes & shoes. Sometimes the scales goes down, sometimes it's up. I know exactly what I ate because I keep the food diary, so I stay away from what I know brought the scale up. I leave on Monday for 3 days & it's going to kill me not to beable to log onto FS. I plan on jotting down what I eat though.

Can't stay motivated
nlfrancis-I have been there, too. What i did was get a partner. I have two, but they aren't on this site. One gal & I want to loose together & the looser gets a massage & manicure. With the other we just keep each up to date on the losses & keep encouraging each other. Try to find a running partner that will get you up & out of the house. I'm a morning person & have a gym a block away so I'm on the treadmill at 4:45am for an hour, then I walk with a gal at 7:30 for an hour. I keep thinking about what I looked like when I got married which was 3 sizes smaller than I am now & want to get back to that. I'm embarrassed that I let myself go. If you're use to working out & now your not that could be the reason for not sleeping. Your body gets use to a routine. You can do this. Remember the 10k in April & who will be there, friends, relatives, the media. Set your alarm tonight & get up & do your run. I believe in you.

Too Much Exercise
In Thurmans exercise routine you do the band exercise for upper body one day & lower body the next because your muscles need to cool down. Is this the same with using a treadmill, eliptical or stationary bike? The reason I ask is because I use the treadmill at 4:30am for an hour, but a friend doesn't want to go to the gym till 7:15am. Can I do the treadmill again or should I use the eliptical or bike?

I have a zillion Buddies on here! We are all very supportive & the ideas are endless. I just got some good advice today from one of you.

I don't really have anything to promote..I guess just giving you a look into my diet.
Getting ideas from the planned diets can get some started in the right direction, but like Palmtreex said it's making your own choices that will rule in the end.
