18 April 2013
One thing I didn't really count on is the reduction in my food bill. I haven't bought anything since the 1st of the month, still have plenty of food in the house, and there are things starting to go past their expiration date in the fridge. Kinda glad I had the foresight to buy the UHT boxed milk with the 6 month shelf life ---

I started the diet on April 1st. The starting weight is a guess -- I don't have a scale that goes over 300 lbs and refuse to buy one! I'll stick to the current regimen until I can weigh in on the scale I DO have. That's the day I get to go out for a freakin steak dinner!
By tracking my caloric intake I found it to be really easy to lose weight -- who knew? Everything I read told me I was allowed 2000 calories a day, and have been using that in the Excel table I set up to track my weight loss. There are 3500 calories in a pound of body fat, so for every 3500 cal I reduce my allowable intake, I subtract a pound from my weight. According to fatsecret.com I'm allowed 2900 calories, so any progress I make mathematically COULD be much less than what's happening in reality. I've tried to be completely honest about everything I eat, and assuming the calorie counts are correct I've lost 4.92 lbs as of the 12th of April.

The 320 lbs I entered yesterday was the weight I STARTED the diet with on the 1st of April. The adjustment reflects progress since that date.
