I'm going to fail this challenge quite miserable on Easter Sunday -- just giving the heads up now. The family is getting together for brunch, and I'm making a tray of oven french toast topped with bananas foster as my contribution. There's an unopened 1/2 gallon bottle of Captain Morgan rum on display in my kitchen I received for Christmas 3 years ago from my nephew. What better reason to crack the seal than to make something that everyone will enjoy?
I won't torture everyone by listing EVERYTHING on the menu for that day, but it's all very extravagant and indulgent. I will say however that it's one of the perks to my personal diet regiment. At each 10 pound weight loss milestone I allow myself a meal of whatever I want, and as much as I want of it! I won't quite be at the 10 pound mark by Sunday, but it's close enough (about 24 ounces) that I'm going to use it! The key is to get right back on the horse after dismounting and having a nice run through the field. I used this method for many years while in the military and it has always worked for me. In those days I could drop 5 pounds every week and one of my favorite rewards was was an enormous Zegeuinerschnitzel mit pommes at a little restaurant inside what's left of the 14th century wall around Oppenheim, Germany.
Enough rambling and reliving those "The Older I Am The Better I was" days! I'm gonna eat with abandon on Sunday, then back to the 500 calories a say on Monday. Next indulgence -- the 30 pond mark!

I had a heart attack a while ago. Of course I wasn't satisfied with just that and decided to throw a pulmonary embolism on top of it just for fun. Needless to say, I got somewhat inactive for a while and put on a lot of weight (over 100 lbs!). I'm seeing a cardiologist and a physical therapist pretty regularly now and thanks to their monitoring all the technical stuff, I'm dropping the weight and easing back into my old lifestyle (minus the tasty fats that caused the heart/lung anomaly. GOD I miss onion rings!) I was almost done with the course work to be a physics teacher when the balloon went up, so tracking metabolism, kcals, joules, etc is sort of a hobby now. I figure I'll be riding the bike down to the river for a day of fishing for Northerns sometime in June. I'm gonna have to forego opening weekend of the trout season this year though, but I could be stompin' through my favorite stream for Brookies before the end of the season.
