Well lets see how I can make myself sound interesting. I'm not a miracle worker so we'll just hope for the best.I'm a 65 year old wife and mother. My children are 42-40-38; two girls and my son is the middle child. My husband is a retired Navy Seal.We live in San Diego county in a little town of about 1500 people called Pine Valley;it's about 40 miles from downtown San Diego.I tryed to call myself Pine Valley Rita but my typeo made me Pine Vallet Rita---oh well sometimes I feel like a vallet.I have 2 beautiful granddaughters; the oldest is leaving for college in about 2 weeks---I miss her already.I worked for the Post Office for 30 years and retired 2 years ago.As for this battle with weight, that has been going on forever. At 20 i weighed 110 lbs. at 40 I weighed 145 lbs., at 60 I weighed 205 lbs. Last Sept. I got serious about losing; as of today I've lost 50 lbs. I would like to be at my goal by 2012---THAT"S THE PLAN!!!For fun I love to eat but I'm trying to change that. For exercise I play with my doggies---they're in my profile photo---they're both mixed breeds I got from the shelter about 2 years ago.I had to get in shape for our daily walk.My hope is to reach my goal and to maybe help some of you reach yours. STAY STRONG

Any dog loving buddies?
Sounds alot like my American Bull Dog; she will be 2 in June. We've been to 3 completed training courses and she still pulls when she sees other people but she's afraid of almost everthing. I broke my pelvis last year when she tryed to hide in between my legs. I'm sure it's the at home training that needs work; she was always the star of the class. Stay strong

What's working??
I have tryed to increase my protein and lower carbs on the whole but I don't deny myself anything. I eat more greek yogurt and nuts and less bread and chips, but mostly it's counting cals and tracking excercise. I'm alot more hungry if I eat empty cals so I try to eat wisely. And no more sitting on my butt all day.

What's working??
One thing I have to remember is to lower my cal intake as I lose weight. When I first started dieting I could eat 2100 cals a day and not gain. Now it's down 1500 cals. So to lose a lb. a week, I have to burn (excercise) or eat fewer cals to total 500 cals a day. My goal is 1200 cals in food and a extra 300 cals burned each day. That's why it seems so much harder the closer to our goals. When I get to my goal --135 lbs. I can only have 1350 cals a day. That's why diets never end and we have to make life time changes.

Before and After, anyone?
How I love those photos; I've gone from 205.8 tp 154.8 but I don't have any before photos because I never let anyone take any, but when I get to my goal I'll take plenty
