I took today off from my regular job to go work my other other job (I'm an accountant and I do bookkeeping for a couple of small businesses on the side). So I'm out in the country, going to be here longer than i expected and i didn't bring any food. Silly me. But I'm thinking my friend here has a fridge full of farm fresh eggs and i think egg salad is in order :) For some reason I am starving...
I start a challenge today - supposed ro do some kind of aerobic activity 20 minutes a day for two weeks. I am pretty sure that is just what I need. I look forward to that dance video when I get home. I plan on alternating that with putting the kid in the stroller and going for a walk. I think I will buy new shoes today.
I have decided my next mini goal (ok - my first minigoal) is to get down to 275, at which time I will go get my hair done. I usually just get it trimmed once a year and maybe change it up a bit with a box of Loreal from the store (I will not to admit to covering the grey). My reward will be to get a salon color and style :)

I tell ya, i certainly wish I would quit reading about losing weight, thinking about losing weight, reading about other people losing weight, and just lose some damn weight!! Ok, I feel better now :)

Winding down the holiday - the Jalapeno poppers were the favorite, i should have made 3 times the recipe. I am proud to say that the cookies on the counter for all day never once spoke my name :)
Today starts a new week, time to buckle down and lose some weight. My birthday is the end of October and I need to set a realistic goal to try to hit by then. I picked up a copy of a fun exercise dance video, i'm going to make an effort to increase my activity.
Mini goal for the week - keep perfect track of what i'm eating and stay out of the restaurants. It's too hard to know exactly how much of what i'm getting if i don't make it myself.

Atkins is so cookout friendly :) I've got deviled eggs, a veggie tray, jalapeno bacon poppers, and fruity cheesecake mousse chilled in individual little cups. I'm going to grill lots of meat and make some mac'n cheese for the muggles. All i need now are people to help me eat it. Of course its raining which makes everyone VERY excited about a holiday cookout.

I have tried a couple of the receipes i found today - the bacon jalapeno poppers and the fruit mousse stuff. Having the kids over tomorrow for a holiday cookout and I want to make yummy stuff without going off plan. The mousse is to die for - I used strawberry and it's great. I think i'm going to try it with peach. The poppers i didn't like as much. I altered the recipe a bit - i'll try it one more time with a few tweaks. I used Anaheim peppers because I wanted everyone to be able to eat them without it being too spicy. Because i didn't have the little pepper boats, i used more bacon than called for to hold the cheese in. Between the extra bacon and the 50% cheddar cheese, it was a little greasy and rich for my taste. I'm going to do it again with jalapeno peppers (the others weren't spicy at all) and maybe only 25% cheddar.
My 10 yr old is here helping me, we have been eating only fingerfoods all day :) including deviled eggs to round it all out.
