I actually started this diet 7 weeks ago and I weighed 174.6 lbs!!! Found this site after I had lost 14 lbs in 5 weeks on Atkins. I plan to lose down to 122. I'm 60 years old and live in Georgia. I have 2 adult daughters and I will be a grandmother for the first time in July! My other daughter is engaged and she is graduating from college in August. Got a lot to look forward to this summer including a beach vacation. I don't want to be mistaken for a beached whale when we go on vacation, so all of ya'll wish me luck, and keep the good recipies and tips comming.

Take a walk. It's a miracle worker!!!! You get in from your walk (20-30min. and you'll find the hunger pangs are gone!!

We all want this...
You can lose 7-10 lbs by doing the Atkins diet. The original Atkins diet says nothing but meat, fish, chicken, eggs and salads. I find that way too boring for two weeks. I did meat, fish, chicken, eggs and low carb veggies like green beans, califlour, zuchini and broccoli along with salads. You can stick with this and lose your weight. A word of caution. After your trip, get right back on it or you will find yourself right back up there.

carbs and aspartame....
I have done Atkins in the past and did much better than I am doing now. You're question made me think that the diet drinks may be my problem. I don't know the answer, but if there is anyone out there who does, let us know. I am going to switch to only water so I'll let you know if it makes a difference.

About 5 days later..... Yes It made a big difference. Lost about 3lbs. Don't know if it was not drinking the diet cokes or the water that replaced it but I'm sticking with water. Thanks for your question. It made me think.
