Challenging week full of ups and downs. Hubby and I went to San Francisco for a mini vacation. Our main reason for going was to watch a San Francisco Giants baseball game as we are both huge fans. I grew up living across the street from my paternal grandparents. My grandma always had the ball game on and took stats on all the games. I wish she were still alive now to attend a game with me. But she definitely gave me the "bug" and I love this team. So, we were able to take a tour of the baseball stadium one day and attend a game the next day and then spend the rest of the time in the City It wasn't the first - or the last - game we've ever been to, but this year it seemed more special for some reason. We were able to go down on the field during our tour. Hubby even lay down on the playing field for a photo (a big no-no so once the photo was snapped, off he jumped as the up guide said, "sir, please get off the field." Oopsies. 😊.

So, I didn't eat so well while there. Walking Pier 39 in SF I had a grilled cheese on sourdough with a bowl of tomato soup. Sooo worth it - I had gotten in a lot of walking. At the ballpark the next day, a "few" beers, shared a Philly cheesesteak with hubby (not worth it), 1 chicken tender and half his fries (worth it), a pretzel (brushed off the salt) AND hot roasted peanuts (definitely worth it - but took the extra home and ate later in the week.

The good part (other than the fabulous trip) was that I got right back on track with food when I returned home.

The bad part - I have worked so much overtime and have been so stressed at work - there's been no time for the gym or even home exercise. I've come home and gone straight to bed. Exhausted

So, this weekend I'm going to focus on grocery shopping and heading to the gym to get back on track there. What's weird is that I felt more flabby all this week just because I haven't been able to work out. Funny how i actually miss exercise now when it's not a part of my routine

My weigh in is tomorrow. When I returned from the trip, I was up 4 lbs. As of this morning, I've lost 2 of those 4. We will see what happens in the morning. Hope all my FS buddies are doing well - haven't been able to read any journals til today. Hope you all have a fabulous week! 😃

Good morning and happy Friday!! Good weigh in today - especially considering the amount of carbs I've eaten this week and the alcohol last weekend. Had insomnia last night so was up at 3:50 am. I should use the time and go to the gym this morning, but here I sit in bed writing this journal. I'll probably start some housework before going to work. Tonight we are going to dinner to celebrate my best friend's daughter's graduation from college with her Masters! So proud of her! She's the little one who gave me my nickname, Kiki (I'm really Karen but this is what she called me, then it stuck for the rest of BFF's kids and my daughters dance friends who she grew up with). So, I'm proud to be called Kiki and proud that this little girl (now beautiful and intelligent woman) gave me this name. So, tonight I will load up on the carbs (no alcohol) as we have our cycling event early tomorrow morning. Hopefully I can beat my time for last year. Its been topping at about 100 degrees here the last couple of days. Thankfully, tomorrow the high will only be 90 and obviously lower in the morning when the ride starts.

TGIF!!
Weigh-in: 207.4 lb lost so far: 19.2 lb still to go: 32.4 lb Diet followed reasonably well

Back from our stay at the beach. I didn't record food while there as i didn't want to use data on phone as i knew id be using a lot with my UP24 activity tracker. Ate relatively well and I'm pretty sure i stayed within my RDI - although on the higher end. Felt good about the food choices i made - except maybe the alcohol. Hey, hubby and i were alone and enjoying the time to ourselves!

Was able to bike ride a lot. Rode up and down a few hills. Biked in front of the santa cruz beach boardwalk and then along Cliff drive and back. Back to campsite (which was the best site ever overlooking the ocean) and hiked a bit 2.31 mile hike). Took a small break and then later that afternoon took a walk along the beach shore (3.09 miles). Omg. Could barely walk after that. Id forgotten how difficult it is to walk in the sand - until it was time to turn around and come back!

So, I'm anxious for weigh in on friday to see how it all turns out. Fingers crossed!

This saturday is my cycling event. Excited - will be a busy week until then.

Hope everyone enjoyed their mothers day and/or weekend. Have a great week, everyone!
