the way i have been eating, i'm surprised i didn't gain more. i have been having chocolate bars, and pizza and just generally not eating well. also, we're having a garage built and i have to be around the whole time the contractors are here. so i haven't been able to take my walks. and it's cold. the one day i could get away, i tried a treadmill and i hated it. i hated it so much that i couldn't even walk a mile. my gym has a track too, but you have to go around 12 times to hit a mile. that's 24 times for my normal walk. probably equally as boring as the treadmill. i won't be able to get back on track until the garage is done. and they are moving slowly. it' frustrating.

i lost my fitbit for a while. fortunately, they sent me a new one for free. i didn't even feel it fall off my wrist. now i am constantly checking. they have some new ones with a clasp like a watch and i would do that if i have to get another. but i'm hoping by the time this one wears out, i can get the apple watch.

i'm still smoking, about half of what i used to smoke. i can't seem to get below that half though.

I'm not sure if this means I'm over the hump with my weight gain, or if I just lost water weight. Probably the latter. But it's nice to see the scale drop anyway. I did do better with my tracking and eating fruit since I last weighed in. Not perfect, but better. I also had the remainder of my Halloween candy last night. It's not the remainder because I ate it all, it was just one other thing that got stolen. Can you believe that?

Things are moving along with our insurance claim. We found receipts for almost everything. Amazon keeps your receipts for years! Still, it's good to have a picture of everything. Good for robberies and good if your house burns down or there's some other catastrophe.

Our new computers arrive on Wednesday. That will be a relief. It's hard to type on this iPad. We only have the iPad because my husband took it to work, usually he leaves it home. Fortunately the robbers left us a charging cord for us. I had a barely working charger cord for my phone in the car, so I am set there too.

My Fitbit was not in the wash, so today I have to call the restaurant we ate at last Saturday to check their lost and found, and then I will call Fitbit customer service and see what they can do for me.

Today I have bathroom contractors hopefully coming to finish their job, and another set of contractors coming to chop down a tree. I really hope they come, both have been flighty, and they are usually due to arrive when I want to go on my walk. Then the walk is foregone. It's supposed to be 76 here today so I would really like to walk. Yesterday it was beautiful too and we planted our bulbs.

It has been a really stressful few days.

i am quitting smoking. i have been focusing my energy on that. so far i cut the number of cigarettes in half, and today i start cutting that number in half again.

i'm not eating a lot because of the no smoking, but i am not making the best choices. and there has been a bit more snacking. i bought halloween candy, and of course i started to eat it. my husband said i should have bought stuff i didn't like. he was right. he is starting to talk about losing weight too. i think it will be so much easier to have him on board. the last time we did weight watchers, we did it together and it really did help.

i think he looks great, but i can see what he's saying about losing weight. i hope he thinks i look great too. but i feel so terribly ugly. i am actually starting to think about wearing makeup, and i never wear makeup. what i really need to do is lose weight. (i almost typed loose there, which is one of my pet peeves).
