I am an entrepreneur, with a busy lifestyle. I have 2 children (11 and 13). My equally busy and supportive husband and I are in a period of personal and family growth which was triggered by a confusing period that I think must have been "our mid-life crisis".

I have a positive self image, and feel pretty good about who I am and how I look now. I've decided that I want to actively take care of my health by using the weight watchers plan permanently.

Need a buddy
You are welcome to join me as a buddy. I was until just a couple of months ago working full time and juggling families. Although I am fit from just being a Mom - I know that I should add formal exercise. Perhaps we can share some good ideas.

Help to get going
WW is really pretty effective if you are determined to make a long term change. As a life time member - I can say it not only works to get you to where you want to be, but, can really help to keep you from going up and up and up.

It is most effective if you are following the plan while going to WW meetings, particularly when you are having a hard time getting started. Somehow having to pay to lose weight, and knowing that you have to weigh in can kick start you when you are having trouble getting off the ground.

If you are following the plan from books - my advice would be to start by reading book one and following it as closely as you can - and of course get some support here regularly.

Even when you are not doing well, or not "getting started" you should journal. That will do a lot to make you aware of what you eat now.

Stretch Mark Baby Bellies
I lost about 45 pounds a few years after my 2 kids were born, and it was a while before the skin got "re-absorbed" so to speak. A friend of mine had the same experience.

Your chart shows you losing at 5 pounds a week - you might want to slow that down to say 1-2 pounds a week for a while. That might help your skin to adjust (at least that is what I've been told).

Good luck!

New and Hopeful
Thought I would say hello. I am sure you'll need a bit of encouragement, as you are restarting. Feel free to add me to your "buddies list" and I'll send you a positive note from time to time.

I've been a ww enthusiast since 2001, and have had some ups and downs since making my goal weight. But with ww I have been able to stop all upward trends at the top of my "healthy weight" range every time, and have never passed my top weight again. (my top weight was 169lbs in 2000 and at that time I was going up about 5-10 pounds a year, so without WW I would not be 210-250 now). Anyway - I'm just happy that I found a way to have control in a way that I can understand and adjust to suit the changes in my life.

I have been able to lose and maintain without meetings, but recently I had become stalled. I JUST restarted meetings because I had and really had a fantastic early result. I can certainly understand the meetings just don't fit my life thing - as I have had lots of times when there are just too many things to do. And I am glad that you have decided to take control anyway. That is really a good thing.

I found out that my daily points target for losing weigh is 4 points lower than I had been using (under the new system). Did they have the points target based on age, weight, height and activity level last year when you started? There is a big variation from the "old plan"
