Woohoo! 240.8. I am glad I see this progress!

..even though it is getting to the point where I see weekly cycles as I was assured by my buddies. I see the gain on the weekend from cheat day, and hanging with my kids. Then the week I see my lows showing up on Tues/Weds/Thurs.

Yesterday I got my shipment in from netrition.com. I ordered 2 boxes of protein bars that are lower in calorie than the average bars. Its funny we have lots of muscleheads here on base, and millions of protein bars, but they are all 250-350 calories, too much for me unless I am using to replace a meal. So I ordered some with about 150 calories. I have not tried them all, but did sample some yesterday and it made my calories go up a bit. I got a protein bar called "Dixie Diners Cranberry Almond Flax", which tastes like a fruit rollup. They were quite good, but tiny, only 31G, or a lil more than an ounce. They pack lots of fiber and other healthy junk (probiotics?) , but not much protein. My other bars are more of a "true" protein bar, which I have not tried yet.

Yesterday's meals went ok. I had my taco's! I like to have Taco Bell once a week. I get 3 crispy fresco style tacos. Fresco style means no cheese, just a pico de gallo deal they have at Taco Bell, and it's really good. Lots of tomato's, onions, and cilantro. So three of those Taco's are only 450 calories. Probably has a lot of salt and fats, but that's OK for me! I have a few challenges that say "No Fast Foods". I bend the rules a bit with my Taco's :-). I figure I am avoiding burgers and fries and KFC, so I am good! You see on base we have about 4-5 choices of food places, and by eliminating some, it is not good for the soul! Every day we walk down for lunch, and its depressing to eat this same food again. Sure, outside the gate is McDonalds, KFC, BK, and all other junk you can imagine, but it is a minefield out there! Subway happens to be furthest away, and the sit down places are all like Chili's and Fuddruckers. I must stay away!

I did not have college classes last night, and spent time messing on my computer all night. Downloading Music, and messing with Quicken. What a piece of crap that software is. Spent an hour trying to get working with my bank account in the states, and had them on tech support for an hour (with someone named Mohammed, go figure) only to find out "That is a known bug, engineering is working on it". In their defense, the online banking community is so skittish with security each one seems to have their own individual measures in place, so it must be tough for intuit/quicken to be able to be compatible with them all.

Anyway, I am rambling. It is a good day, and I have work to do.

I am grateful today for:
My wife and kids
My great coworkers who drive me around while in boot
School tonight (I am lying here)
Kitty
NNTP Downloads
Katy Perry (That Teenage Dreams album really is good)

i didn't know that they have all this kind of fast food restaurants over there! we don't even have one KFC in the whole country.... we have lots of mcdonalds and we restarted with BK...but as the two big retailers (migros and coop) have a great take away offer, we actually don't need that much of other fast food restaurants... wish you a good day, JP, with lots of great music! :)

Yes Joelae, we have soo much fast food here it is silly. This culture really took too it, and sadly you see many fat little kids and teens. I noticed when in Italy, there is much less fast food too, maybe it is cultural, or there is no need as Italy's food is so good! McDonald's and KFC will actually deliver to your house here. Of course this being a desert, the food choices previously (Bread, Rice, Lamb) was not very diverse. We actually call the street where all the restaurants are "American Alley", but the malls are full of those places too.
