SmallDailyChanges's Journal, 14 December 2007

Last night was a major turning point for me - I don't think I've EVER had that kind of "Aha" moment before. I was at work (I'm in commission retail sales), and I had splurged on a big dinner, had a few pieces of candy and then a couple of cookies. I knew I was not being consistent with my diet, and I gave myself the old "New Year New You" speech and didn't think about it. Right before we closed for the night, I had a couple come in and I had to take them through the demo process. I noticed that I was a little short of breath at the beginning of the presentation but didn't think much about it. A few minutes later when I'm running around the store to get things for the customer it got to the point my shortness of breath was effecting my sales pitch, so I sat down for a minute to get my breathing under control. I realized when I sat down why I couldn't breathe - I was so full from everything I had eaten earlier that it was uncomfortable to sit and hard to breathe.

The full feeling didn't go away until about midnight, about 4-5 hours after I had eaten. I don't ever want to feel that way again! When I weighed myself this morning I had gained 8 pounds, which isn't surprising, but I'm starting on that upward trend again. I haven't been over 305 in over a year, and now I'm 5 pounds over. I have to get serious about this - I am changing things starting NOW.
310.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 160.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

Oh those defining moments! I had a defining moment 8 weeks ago when I started SB, symptoms of a heart attack and stroke, couldn't make it up the stairs in my own house without my heart pounding so fast and hard and made me dizzy. I started SB at my doctors urging to "must lose weight or die of heart disease" and I am loving SB! I did this to live and now I love living this! Please use everyones encouragement and understanding here! Also, there is so much input and advice and recipes and links to other sites and recipes. Use this wonderful blessing of Fatsecret that you have found. You WILL do this. Just always remember how you felt the other day and never go back there. I can't believe how totally different I feel from the person I was 7 1/2 weeks ago! You can do this too. So many people here have changed their lives for the better; now it's your turn! Best wishes to you!
