posterchild66's Journal, 01 February 2012

Well, up .4 to 242. Fatsecret seems obsessed on rounding up, so I obliged :-).

Yesterday I thought I ate OK, but the issue is we went out to lunch, and it was probably salty and spicy. I had cataplana which is a big bowl of chicken, veggies and rice. It was so spicy I ate about half of it (but all the meats!). I was full anyway.

Dinner was chicken and veggies on a low carb wrap. This is my old go to food for dinner, and it was good. I had butter out to make a "sauce" but put it away. My weekend sauce experience with butter made me thing about it, but I declined.

I am able to "walk" around (I use that term loosely) without crutches, and i am about 5 days ahead of doctors orders doing that (Next Monday). Anyway, last night my ankle was really swollen. Not painful, more like water was trapped. Not sure if it was a bandage issue or not. It went away quickly and did not cause any pain, just freaked me out when I saw it.

So today I am trying a shoe on my bad foot, to help keep my bandages in place and because the ortho boots bottom is anything but smooth. I have been complaining about it feeling like a stone or coin under my heel. Well, there is a hole and I think some metal bars on the bottom that I am feeling through the base. Not good on the ball of your foot (heel) when that's where your weight is going.

So, today seems to be starting well. Tonight is my sons Holy Confirmation, so I have to leave work early a bit and get my church clothes on, and establish a barrier so I dont get converted. :-)

Anyway, today life is good, and I am grateful for many things. My wife and kids. My kitty. My job and coworkers. And fatsecret and all the support it brings.

/Cheers, JP

It's so good to hear the foot's getting better, JP. Hopefully the shoe will help. Do be careful to not push yourself too hard, though. Things take time. Well done putting the butter away. It's the little things, right? :) Ah, and MASSIVE LOL on the "establish a barrier"! :)
