Week 4 of 3rd 6 wks, SUCCESS, 137.4, 36.3% body fat, musc mass 83, trace ketones, no exersize.

Skipped breakfast unintentionally, lunch (while at event sit down luncheon), small ceasar salad, chicken breast w brown gravy, green beens, coffee w half and half (skipped the bread, butter, potatoes and cheese cake--all of which were at my place setting), dinner steak salad and glass of cabernet.

In the past (pre-atkins for life), I would have never been able to pass up those things at lunch. People now say 'you are so strong'--it isn't that I have lost my 'taste' for them, I would still enjoy eating them--I just have lost my craving for them so I am able to pass them by. Thank you Dr. Atkins!!!
137.4 lb Lost so far: 21.4 lb.    Still to go: 2.4 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

I know what you mean about losing the cravings... My Mom & Sis once called me their "hero" b/c I could easily turn down all those carb filled desserts and side dishes but it wasn't hard! I had gotten to that place where I didn't really even think about them and they were not part of my "taste vocabulary" LOL... You should be proud of yourself to have gotten to that place BUT watch out ... a few too many vacations of "oh, well.. I'm on vacation and I'm gonna eat this candy or fudge" will surely derail you!!! That's how I went from 117 lbs. back up to where I am today :( I intend on getting back to that place and I'm never gonna touch certain things again! I'm not saying to "never" have "normal" food again but it's safer to completely give up things that you really don't want that much anyway, ya know???? Have I confused you and everyone??? LOL.. I seem to ramble a lot early in the morning... this is when I am my "perkiest" LOL --Keep up all the good work you're doing.. You are where I hope to be by Christmas!!!

I don't know how you did it! I probably would have just been absent from this event! Great job!

Mandie--read Lori's comments--that's how I did it--really not hard to turn down--no 'will power' involved. Lori--I understand the 'I'm on vacation' caution. I hope you guys tell me that if I leave that excuse on the board!!!!!

We have so many causes to celebrate these days, it seems like a special event comes around every other week, and they always seem like good excuses to "cheat". I find that I have to be choosy about when I do celebrate or take "vacation" from my diet and not do it for every celebration that comes along. I find it a lot easier to pass up those foods at weddings and fancy parties, knowing that once a year at my birthday I will enjoy some birthday cake. I guess it works for some people to completely give things up, as long as you set some sort of boundary for yourself, that is what matters.
