posterchild66's Journal, 28 December 2011

Good Morning All, still dealing with some holiday daemons. Mainly lethargy from not working (I walk a lot at work). Too much video gaming (my hobby/habit). Also my wife's family whom live in the American land of pretzels (Pennsylvania) sent us 3 huge tubs of pretzels. So there has been some snacking goin' on. Well, all is well, today I am back at work, routine is in full effect. Weigh in today is 252, down .8 lb since yesterday which is good. I am in a challenge to lose 25 lbs by New Years. I am not going to make it, but I am close. I would like to be below 250 for New Years, that is doable I feel.

Made Butternut Squash last night, it was quite nice! Its nice to discover new foods for our routine, and this will definitely be one. Easy to make, and nutritious. I think its a good carb replacement, or shall I say, its better than potatoes and rice. Its like a whole new world out there!

Today I am grateful for being back at work. Sounds silly but I am a creature of habit. I am grateful for my wife who is on a similar journey, she is working out like the dickens. She lost over 25 lbs so far, I certainly cannot complain about that. I am also grateful for my job, and the excellent crew I work with.

/Cheers, JP

i do totally understand what you mean with "thankful for being back at work" because i'm the same. i need the routine and i usually have problems when i'm just at home, doing "nothing"... so have a great day and you'll make it under 250 by new year's! :)

I just commented on joelae's journal, and I will say the same here. Routines are SO important for us. They just make life so much easier, don't they? Congrats on the weight loss and congrats on finding the new foods! There is nothing like discovering a new world of flavor. Lately, we've dug a little into Indian food. So many good things to be found there.
