Sunrise's Journal, 24 December 2011

I was happy to see a small loss considering it's the TOM. My measurements were a little wacky for the same reason - waist and abs were up by an inch or so. I'm sure next week will be better (as long as I don't cave to the Christmas temptations)! I'm pleased with a couple of my other measurements - down a half inch in each arm and my hips. I am really noticing the change in my arms. My biceps have come out of hiding and my arms overall are looking much more tone.

I had a great cardio workout this morning. I really pushed myself and felt great afterwards. My hubby came downstairs to iron while I was on the treadmill (yes, he does his own ironing - what a guy!). He came down shirtless and I was a little surprised to see some really nice definition in his chest and abs. When I asked if he had been secretly working out, he grinned sheepishly. Apparently, he decided he couldn't let me be the only one getting in shape so he's been lifting when I am not home. (That's not to say he was out of shape before. He's never been overweight in his life, but he was probably in the skinny fat camp.) Anyway, it's really nice that we are both working toward the same goal of improving our health and fitness. We are going to do a small sprint triathlon together next June.

I cannot believe it's really Christmas. It doesn't feel or look like Christmas. I feel really good about my determination to keep eating clean even in the midst of all the sugar and excess. I know I can do it! I may have one small treat if I really feel that I want it, but if I can do without, I will.
