A little about me: I’m 38 years old. I am married to a wonderful man who loves me for who I am even though I am not quite the cute kid he married (but that will be changing soon :). I am an avid (some say obsessed) gardener. I am currently in the process of landscaping every square inch of my yard until it’s a botanical haven of tranquility and beauty. I also enjoy photography, traveling, and I love being outdoors.

I work full time.. In addition to a very full work schedule, I am in graduate school, working towards an MBA in Accounting. Up until recently, I have used my busy schedule and high level of stress as excuses for why I was not taking care of my body. I have finally made the decision that I am far more important than work. I am ready and motivated to get serious about transforming my body. I am 100% confident I will succeed. I am a very driven person who is highly motivated by goals and challenges. For too long, I put all of that drive and motivation into my work. Now it’s time to make myself a top priority!

Plan:
Calories per day: 1500 split in 5 small meals (1900 every fourth day)
Macronutrients: 45% carbs, 35% protein, 20% fat
Cardio: 6 days per week, 45-60 minutes per day
Weights 3-4 days per week, 45 minutes each

Goals:
3 Month Goal (2/26/12) – Lose 36 pounds of body fat
6 Month Goal (5/26/12) – Lose 25 pounds of body fat
9 Month Goal (8/26/12) – Lose 25 pounds of body fat
12 Month Goal (11/26/12) – Lose 20 pounds of body fat

RDI Question.
I like to use the Katch-Mcardle calculator instead because it takes into consideration body fat %. The standard RDI calculator is based on total body weight. For those of us who are "overfat," the RDI can be overstated. For example, my RDI per FatSecret is 2400. Using the Katch-Mcardle calculator it's 1900. A 200 pound person who has only 15% body fat needs more calories than a 200 pound person who is 40% fat. If you don't know your body fat %, google the navy method for an easy to use formula that is accurate enough to get a good idea.

Looking for buddies for the long haul
Hello everyone,

I started back up on this site 2 weeks ago. I have had a good start and have already lost about 10 pounds. But I have about 100 more pounds to lose so I'm in this for the long haul. I'd love to have some buddies to share the journey with. I'm 38 years old, married, no children. I never had a weight issue as a child/teen. It wasn't until I started working full-time after college that I started to struggle with weight. I have gained and lost weight several times in the past 15 years. I am currently at my heaviest weight ever and I'm determined to lose it all once and for all. My ultimate goal is to be at my goal weight of 155 before my trip to Alaska next July. My hubby and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary next year and that's the weight I was when we got married.
