After 8 days of living in hotels and eating lots of eggs, almonds, salads and steaks and hardly any vegetables I'm not surprised that my weight is up. Also very intermittent internet so not much logging. I'm home now and will try to get back to a more balanced diet.

I admit that not being surprised doesn't mean I'm not wildly disappointed. I didn't have anything off plan except a bit of lightly breaded calamari and that isn't really very much extra carbs. (Calamari is often one of my planned indulgences so I knew what I was doing.) Oh, and I did have one fruity drink at a party where nothing else was available. But still, almost 5lbs seems excessive. :(
164.5 lb Lost so far: 55.5 lb.    Still to go: 9.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

That is disappointing! I traveled alot over the summer and was faithful to plan, but the results were the same. I think that salt is a big factor, and I don't know about you, but when I travel my digestion just does not work well! Anyway.......you have done great with a 55 lb weight loss so I am sure you will have the five pounds off quickly.

Oh yes, I am in agreement. I'm sure salt had a lot to do with it. You'll have it off of you in no time. And 5 pounds, really? That really isn't too much considering most peoples' weight can change that much in a single day. I think you did a very good job.

Its not up by much, give it a week at most and that will be gone I am sure. Glad you had a good time.

Thank Keli & Sarahsmum, I am already down a pound or two and I think you are right about the salt and such. It is also restaurant things like 3 egg omelets instead of the two I'd make at home. I'm sure I ate *more* just being out all the time. At home I carry a take-away box in with me!

I posted first thing this morning (CA time) lol. Waited impatiently for the weekly weigh-in. *grin* I suppose I could have posted something but was mostly head down in World of Warcraft or doing holiday stuff. Happy Halloween!
