trackin64's Journal, 07 October 2015

Here we go, it's what I call "the bounce." You do everything right and the weight mysteriously goes the wrong direction. Reminds me that the energy in/energy out hypothesis of how one gains or loses weight is so misguided. Bodies are not machines - unless those machines can experience water retention and hormone shifts!

Thanks, redgirl. Because I weigh every day I am aware that this happens. If I was weighing once a week and that happened to be the "bounce" day, I would be very discouraged!

Thanks for the term "the bounce". I like to weigh every day and know the bounce very well...but I don't like it. I don't like the stall ( no movement) much either but it happens. Now I will see the upward tic as just being like a high fly baseball, going up but soon to come down.

I usually see the bounce if I don't hydrate enough; the old body wants to hang onto the fluid if I don't give it enough daily. Just a thought.

Good point, kclab! I probably was a little dehydrated yesterday. Paying more attention to that today.
