Yay for a bit of downward movement!

I totally forgot to cook cauliflower again last night. I got home and the gardeners were taking down a dead tree and had cleared a huge section of bushes. We had another dead tree fall over last week and crush a car... so dead tree removal got urgent somehow. And then it was almost time for bellydancing and I made a quick omelet. Ah bah. And tonight we're going to Harry Potter. That poor cauliflower is going to turn to mush in the fridge. I have been forgetting it for a week.

Doncha hate it when all that money goes into the garbage? I swear I throw away 50 bucks worth of fresh fruit and veg cause no one (but me) cares to eat it. But they are quick to tell me there is nothing to eat.

I hear you. Fresh produce is lovely... but requires much more attention than the canned/frozen/dried stuff. Thanks for the gratz!

But it tastes so much better than that other stuff.

I tend to avoid that problem by prepping my veggies that we are going to have for the week. I cut and marinate squash for the grill, saute mushrooms, onions, garlic, summer squash, red peppers, tomatos and then mix in with some quickly boiled whole wheat pasta or just have on the side of some fish. I find that during the week I always run out of time or energy to start preparing a nice veggie side dish from square one. I also clean and cut up all the fruit. For some reason it gets eaten if it is all cut up but not if it remains whole.
