Surprising, since I just got back from a week in Arizona with family. Ate more than usual, ate things I don't ordinarily eat. At a certain point, I just went for it and enjoyed myself. Both my husband and I were so ready by the end of the week to get back to how we usually eat. Fun to cut loose a bit, but we like our grains, beans, and veggies

Nice way to start the new year 😀. Perhaps you were more active during your vacation? Maybe more walking?

That’s great after a week off schedule and different foods away from home!👍 It always feels good to get back to your WOE. Happy New Year!:)🎆🎉💜

Maybe slightly, but not enough to have made up for the feasting. Dunno. I'd say I indulged, but didn't binge. Since I don't forbid anything, there's no "dam breaking" effect for me. I usually come back from Arizona a couple of pounds heavier, but didn't this time

I think that's a sign that no matter what you ate your body let you know you filled the tank and you can stop eating!! My guess is your body recognized the full gauge. Good Job!!

Happy New Years. Nice about your loss. It does not happen to me Alas

otb -- you, too! 😃 honeebuns -- you may be onto something. I ate to the point of overfull a time or two, but not to the point of stuffed. HCB -- yes, it feels good to start the day with my typical oatmeal and chia and fruit. I've made a conscious decision to eat what is offered when I'm a guest, but I definitely feel better on my usual WOE. Where I could, I tried to eat that way -- falafel at my one restaurant meal, my stepmom's steel cut oats packets, peanut butter, attacking the salad on pizza night -- but it was definitely a lot more meat, cheese, sugar, fat, and salt than usual

Happy New Year to you, too, liv001 😊 I think the experience of gaining over the holidays is more typical, but not something I was going to get overly worried about had it happened. We all know what to do when the celebrations are over, and if you feel off track right now, I'm sure you'll get back at it 👍

Exactly. When we are eating at the home of other people I also eat what is served, making the better choices when possible, but this is where portion control is your very best friend. Then, just resume your usual preferred way of eating.

Good job! I gained over 6 pounds in a month. But I ate what I wanted although I really didn't binge.

I also splurged some but got quickly tired of too much sugar, carbs, salt, and fat. I am back to eating lots of salads, low glycemic veggies and fruits, lean meats, nuts, olive oil, legumes, a few grains.
