JDbowler's Journal, 21 October 2014

So, today was disappointing. I get on the scale and I didn't lose, I didn't gain either, so that's a good thing. However, I walked a lot yesterday, ate very well, did my exercise routine, and nothing lost. I thought for sure I would have lost. Oh well, can't lose everyday. There is always tomorrow. I guess all the alcohol from the weekend is still wreaking havoc on my body. Hopefully it will be out soon. Hope everyone has a great day.

You don't always see the results from one day to the next. Sometimes you don't see it on the scale for a week. That's why consistency is key. Our bodies are made up of 60% water, so many factors cause the scale to go up and down. For example, if you walked a lot yesterday and your legs are sore, you may be retaining water. Muscles retain water to help them heal which can show as a temporary gain, no loss or smaller than usual loss. It goes away. Other factors include: sodium (in your food yesterday), stress, medications, inflammation, lack of sleep, hormones, etc. and many more. Google "why the scale lies" for insight. If you weigh daily, expect to see the scale change hourly (and every day). You can show a gain when you do everything right and you can see a big loss when overeating. Just have to stay consistent.

You can google : Why The Scale Lies. It helps a lot to understand why the scale is not moving even though you did everything right.
