Day 11 - Elimination diet and Round 2/Day 2 Zumba step and Amazing abs workout

3 more days and finish this diet which really felt good, cleansing in mind and body.I have made a promise to myself to upkeep this life choice (I won't call it a diet really because you are never food deprived). I believe in my case, certain foods are triggers, example, if i see a pan with gravy I would lick it clean with a nice piece of ciabatta bread, if I take coffee, I have to dunk a biscuit or a piece of dark chocolate, If I drink wine i hunt for salty peanuts or a strong cheese, if i get bottled Wurster sausages in brine, I open the bottle and eat 2 or 3 straight away, if i take bacon, i want eggs or bacon rustic bread sandwich...the list is endless. So I made a list of these things i would binge on and I identified them as my binge list. They're out of my mind and on this list.By just not taking these things, I've eliminated quite alot of sodium, wheat, dairy and sugar and took it in other healthier options with less damage. I will probably have them in future because they're around in my kitchen and pantry everywhere because we are a household of 5 including me and no one wants to partake in my life choice, except maybe my hubby who's getting interested.

Well today i woke up at 6 sharp and had a good night's sleep. After weighing in, headed for the kitchen to prepare and cook Roast beef, roast vegs, whole roasted garlic and potatoes( for kids) The house was smelling heavenly by the time everyone headed out for work or school and everyone is looking forward to lunch later on in the day, whatever time they finish (one goes in, other out) we rarely eat together as a family and most of us eat standing up! I try and insist for them to sit down to eat...I always try and sit down to eat with my son for lunch after school and love it when anyone else can join us....However my son loves pasta, rice, potatoes nothing with sauce not even ketchup, grates some cheese and pepper and snacks on raw vegs like carrots or frozen peas (ahem in frozen state) and sausages....to convince him to eat a slice of beef or pork, it has to be freshly cooked, he will not eat leftovers ( i would call him a fussy eater in earlier times) BUT he is nicely shaped and growing tall and boasts a nice tight 6 pack and I think he makes good food choices and could teach us a lesson or two! I am more adventurous though and would try anything at least once! Same blood, but so different! Well looking forward to going home for lunch and slicing up my roast which is resting in foil. I cooked all the goodies at 325 degrees F (160 degrees C) which I thought was unusual but i found it as highly recommended in an old cookbook I had. I seared the meat in a pan on high heat on both sides after putting salt and pepper, then placed it in a dish with 1 cup of homemade stock and 1/2 cup of wine and some thyme. It smelt divine! I allowed 30 minutes for a pound of beef to have it well done, takes less if you like it medium or rare..my kids take only well done, or slightly, only slightly pink. Meat thermometer said it was done and I was so happy because I usually cook roast at a higher temperature and the meat thermometer rarely says it's done although it looks well done from the outside. Ah the little tricks of life... well fingers crossed and hope it cam good cos i worked up an appetite now! Buon Apetit!

Thanks Kathy, the 325 degrees F worked beautifully! The roast was juicy with just a touch of pink blush! The taste amazing! I put the juices of the pan in a jug in the fridge and the fat solidified and removed it. The juices amazing richness! Not one oz of fat in the cooking! I will remember this magic number and have this journal lest i forget :)!
