writingwyo's Journal, 31 July 2022

Feels strange but also very freeing to not be measuring and weighing food these last couple of days. I'm glad I did it the last several months, because it really taught me a lot about nutrition. If I start gaining, I can always go back to it. We'll see how the next few weeks go :-)
131.4 lb Lost so far: 20.3 lb.    Still to go: 1.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

There is a personal balance in there somewhere; you'll find it.

Thanks, gwzfire! I'm hoping I'm there. I'm still using the Dr. Greger's Daily Dozen app to remind me to get enough beans, fruit, veg, etc. I found over the last couple of months that if I scored well on that one, the FS numbers usually came out the way I wanted

I think your healthy habits will fall into place on their own from doing it so long!:)⭐️👍

Dr. Greger's Daily Dozen app, you say? I'll have to check that out. Thank you!

gwzfire -- hope you like it! He has a website, too. NAVYWIFESKI -- I think you're right. My goal with tracking was to learn to eat healthier, and I think I have. I can always start tracking again if I need to.

Yes, I started this journey with the sole goal of being stronger. It has taken on a much deeper meaning, but healthier is part of the whole.

I think people know exactly when they're going off the rails, but the backslide into big portions or sweet/salty extras is really hard to fight once it starts. Since you've made a lot of good habits, I'm betting you'll be one of the successful maintenance dieters here. 💛

Glad that works for you, Morticia 😊 It may be that I have to go back to it. If that's what it takes, I will

I weigh and measure everything. Or else I don't have a clue. Lol

Dee Dee -- TBH, half the time I AM tracking I'm somewhat clueless because of the way we cook and eat. Lots of thrown together meals from whatever we have in whatever quantities "look right", oddball foods, altered recipes, and lots of variety. Seemed the healthier my diet got, the harder it was to track! 😂

Haha. Yes. I have to measure each ingredient of my oddball recipes!!
