why I'm choiceing to go from Adkins to calorie counting

I was on Atkins from November 2013 at 244 lbs (( Or Low carb higher nutrition )) got down to 218 by June lost 26 lbs

went into the hospital in June 4th came home and continued to eat the same and throw every thing up for approximately a whole week till I couldn't handle it any more and started to eat cereal and it stayed down that is when I slowly changed my eating and became comfortable just staying with in my RDI my calories that would help me lose ,, and I have not thrown out every thing I have learned like daily vegetables in take and my bodies need for raw foods nuts and fruits ,, when any sugar is added its done with great awareness that less is better ,, I also Understand the high the fiber the better in breads pasta exc ,, I do allow myself to eat ice cream and cookies and chips the more money I have to spend on food the higher quality I choice that is not always the case ,, PLEASE IF YOUS DON'T LIKE THE WAY I'M CHOICEING TO LOSE I WOULD BE EXSTREAMLY GRATEFUL FOR YOUR REMARKS TO BE KIND ,,, AT 62 I'M TOTALLY AWARE THAT AN APPLE HAS HIGH NUTRITION AND A COOKIE DOESN'T ,, BUT THAT DOESN'T HAVE TO WRECK MY GOAL OR MY OVER ALL DESIRE TO IMPROVE

Everyone has the right to make those choices which feels right and works for them! I've chosen calorie counting and to move more. I don't have to throw out any food items just because it no longer fit in the new diet... Making positive changes must work for YOU. Good luck with your weight loss. Just remember "you can eat everything you like, just not all the time" :-)

You chose to do what you body can handle. My gred was horrible water would make me vomit bending over to tie my shoes also. I still get that way but changing a bit here and there has helped.

well the word of God say's the greatest gift is Love/compassion ya can have all the info in the world and be a Great Teacher to help others but to assume something about another is playing God ...I wrote once I smell self-righteousness a mile away after all ,,, I was rejected by many at a very early age as my Dad ( was a violent alcoholic who would rather spend time at the bars with his drunken co-workers and spend his money on them then us ) (( then after great depression Mom left us for many men )) she did stay in the house and use to take any one of us 6 kids (I'm the oldest and only girl and 5 brothers younger then I )on dates so she could use us as a decoy to get out of the house it wasn't a good experiences to be hated by neighbors because of your parents ways . many children were banded by there parents to not play with us or come over to our home ( which I do understand as police & violence was often at our home and with 5 brothers not being supervised they got into drugs and selling and stealing )any ways I'm not were I once was yet I'm not were I want to be ... I totally understand what clean eating is ,,, I have done so at different times in my life . so I'm not ignorant at all .. Thanks very much for your support and compassion towards me I'm very greatful <3

No. That's Gina. Got Lexie and Gina now. Cassie left such a huge hole in my life when she left. Got Lexie from the vet. A little pup with a broken leg. Then came Gina (the one in the pic). All her brothers and sisters died of starvation. Couldn't resist her!

Whatever works, Dreamcatcher. I had difficulty when I tried Atkins years ago, had no energy and just all over felt bad, so I understand your wanting to change your diet. I think awareness is the best way to lose weight myself, we just can't always balance that with our hunger. Just be judicious in your choices, which is what you seem to be doing. :)

Great job setting boundaries! Sometimes people need to hear a "broken record" before it sinks in, so if you experience someone being judgemental just refer them back to this post. Diet is just one small part of life. I think you're doing great in so many ways.
