FitOKay's Journal, 05 June 2014

Hmm... back in the 150s. Not really sure where to go with that. I have been eating at maintenance the last week or so, but not ever over. On top of that I over-estimate my intake (measuring just under a cup and recording a cup, just under an ounce and recording an ounce, giving the last bite of the sandwich to the dog and recording the whole sandwich, etc...) and under-estimate my output (using the lowest reasonable base output rate for my age, height, weight and then tweaking my sleep and rest hours here to reflect the lower number. Biking for an hour 5 or hour 10 and recording an hour. Recording push-ups and squats with light calisthenic rather then heavy). I have no cheat food I don't record.

So I'm looking back and have nothing that explains the increase. I weighed in yesterday and was at 152.2, I was hoping it was just an anomaly due to water weight so waited to weigh in again today... today's number suggests it not an anomaly. I know the 149 wasn't an anomaly either because I was in the 149 range for 10 days.

On top, according to these measurements I took early this morning I'm 2.75 inches down in the waist and hips while being 1.75 inches down in the bust. That with only about a 3lb difference between the weight on 3/21 compared to today's weight.

Frustrated to back in the 150s =p

Take it easy :) probably one of those famous fluctuations due to liquid retention, or PMS or hormons in general... there are many things that can affect your weight. But don't worry, you seem to have been behaving pretty well and that will pay off; give it a couple of days and you'll see :)

It sounds like you're doing everything right! I had the same thing happening awhile back. I came to the conclusion that I was actually gaining muscle from working out. Muscle weighs more than fat so if you're losing fat but gaining muscle, unfortunately the scale reflects that. I think you're doing great!

Scales are the devil....and hormones.....being a girl on a diet is tough, if you feel your clothes still feel like you're at the 149 then you're fine....you're doing great, don't get down on yourself!!!

Ha ha I like that - scales are devils. It is a love-hate relationship. It could very well just be bloating, I think I read somewhere to drink more water. "Bloating occurs when the body is dehydrated. ..... The only way to counteract this is to drink enough water to make your body feel safe again, allowing it to flush the retained fluid from its system."

Thanks guys. I appreciate the support. Clickturu, I'm really hoping that's the case. Ahardesty, I agree and somewhat wonder if the extra appetite hasn't been a natural bulking phase. That explains the lost inches, but I'm still not sure where the extra weight is coming from when calories in = calories out, ya know? Socolova, lol, very true- I may just set my scale aside for a bit until I get into normal deficits again. I know I'm not overeating, so I can't do much more then that. JaunaBsmall, I agree water is important, I know I've been eating more sodium then normal the last week or so, so maybe that is it =p

I'm learning that if I know I'm being healthy and putting a lot of effort toward it then it's not really worth beating myself up over it. Beat up the scale, it's evil!!! :) Sounds like you're doing great, keep up the good work and feel good knowing you're being honest with yourself (not cheating on calories and working hard).
