I am in search of motivation and have none right now!!!
240.5 lb Lost so far: 5.5 lb.    Still to go: 20.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 1.2 lb a week

Melissa, I can tell you what gives me motivation....I want my future health to be as good as possible. I have some health issues now and potential ones that could come into being. I can't change yesterday but I can do what is in my power to make tomorrow, both short term and long term, as good as it can be. I have 3 children, 4 step children, 3 grandchildren, one more on the way, and a wife. There are lots of things in my life to live for, I need to take responsibility for them and for myself and stop saying that tomorrow will be the day. Today was yesterday's tomorrow, each today is all I have to work with in order to make a difference. What things are important in your life? I see from your profile that you have children, a fiance', and also some health issues. They are certainly all important things to live for, important things worth being as healthy as you can be for. Our lives are made up of many many days, but we live them one day at a time. I would encourage you to just take each day as it comes and try to purpose yourself to do the best you can. Once you get started and get in a groove with it, it can become a way of life. I struggled with weight for years but I'm finally at a point where I am ready to really do something about it, and I am doing something now. Don't wait until you're as old as I am....do it now. You have to find your own motivation, hopefully this is helpful, I don't know. I do wish you the best of luck and success. :)

Ask yourself a few questions. How long do you want to live? Do you want to be healthy during your time walking on this planet? Want to run and play with your kids without getting short of breath? If taking meds, want to do that for the rest of your life and avoid going for medical attention because you know the doctor is going to give you hell for not taking care of yourself? What would you like to do if you could lose the weight? So what that your gym partner bombed on you. Find another. Or just get an MP3 and workout to the music in the gym. Enough motivation???

Motivation for me is remembering why I decided to lose weight to begin with. I don't like being large. I want to do things that others do without a second thought. I may even consider dating if the right opportunity was to present itself. I want to live past 60 so time isn't standing still. Have a nice evening.
