JJisFit4AA's Journal, 24 May 2014

Not dieting this week, just journaling my food in an honest way and analyzing my current eating habits. I see lots of room for improvement even before I start an actual diet. I may continue this way for another two weeks.

I will work on the following:
- Get back into the habit of cooking
- Plan meals for my son and myself
- Work on PORTION CONTROL

I'm not a lumberjack, therefore I shouldn't eat like one. :)
177.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 12.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

Thanks wholefood nut and ClassicRocker! I'm trying that desk worker vs lumberjack diet right now! haha

I understand that!! My job is "chained to a desk" ; my life outside work, now that my asthma is more under control, is closer to that lumberjack :)). My asthma and weight causing arthritis pain had turned me into a couch potato. I'm 64, female, live alone and am re-vamping my yard and remodeling parts of my house by myself. Still trying to fit an exercise program into my life, along with grandkid's sports and projects. I'm also addicted to cookbooks, great food, cooking, and quilting (I need to fit that back into my life). My eating plan has to fit my life and help keep me fit and healthy to at least 104! I gear my plan to sedentary because I rarely know how my days will play out. Losing 50+ pounds and exercise has given me my life back.. Loving it!!!

WholeFoodNut! You are my inspiration! I need to be remodeling my house! I can't afford to pay someone but I need to get this work done. You are darn right all of that remodeling activity counts as exercise!! I also love to knit, I might even get to knit a row this evening. 50 + weight loss is an incredible achievement! I need to keep my eye on you young lady! You are going places! I'll be 52 in July, I see staying active is the key to a happy, long, mobile life!

If that is a recent photo, you do look marvelous darling!!! Spell check won't let me change the spelling grrr. My attitude has become I can do it!! If you tell me I can't because I'm female or too old I will prove you wrong! I have women friends who keep telling me I can't or shouldn't do things because I'm too old. I rarely talk to them anymore and I feel bad because they have been my friends for a long time. They drag me down. Now I don't do much on a tall ladder...don't like them: my Son-in-law is redoing the siding on my gas fireplace chimney and my electrical and plumbing ability is limited....my choice:))). I did tear out my old kitchen faucet and put in a pretty new one last Sept. My neighbors and friends think I'm a bit nuts...I want things done, can't afford to pay someone, I learn how and do it. I come stubborn Swedish stock. My great gramma insisted on helping my dad build a garage, she was out there hammering boards and 85 years old, my mom wasn't out there, I was 6.. She decided she lived long enough at 96 and died in her sleep, nothing wrong with her but arthritis. Don't let anyone limit you simply because you are female or because of your age, let that decision be your choice. I chose to have my SIL who does remodeling and is an electrician as a job re-do some of my basement. He updated my electrical system, replaced my ceiling (with my help), moved my laundry room plumbing, etc. I've done the finish work and he taught me how to replace outlets and switches. I have sort of :)) learned my limits.

Awww thank you ClassicRocker, I'll be 52 in July. It's my dad's fault, he will be 80 in October and no one believes him!! That picture was taken 2 years ago it's my inspiration to get back to weight training. I look the same but my guns are a bit deflated right now. I will be working building them back up as I get back into weight training!

@Wholefoodnut First, thank you for the kind words. I've was blessed with good genes, I don't change much over the years as long as I keep my weight stable. It seems the only thing that age folks on my dad's side of the family is excess weight. @WholefoodNut, you are so on point with all that you are doing, it's like you are bringing a special message for me to consider at this point in my life. I need to learn that I can't allow my own limited thinking or the voices of others stop me from what I know in my heart can be achieved. I agree to leave the plumbing and electrical work up to the professionals! I have a LOT of decluttering and painting work to do inside of my house. I need to come up with a plan. I'll be stalking your profile, so please be sure to keep it updated with your projects around the house and I will do the same! Excellent stuff @WholeFoodNut you got me THINKING which prayerfully will lead to PLANNING and then DOING! Yay!
