AuntieJan's Journal, 03 April 2011

Beautiful Sunday morning here. Got up about 7:00 and had my coffee out on the porch, sat for almost an hour watching the birds and squirrels come to the feeder and bird bath, also I threw out some corn for the ducks that hang around the little lake behind the house. I didn't go to Nomad today so this was my church.

Our pets are frequently entertained as well:

It can be very peaceful to just sit and enjoy, something I am working on. I don't sit idle well... In the past I think I tried to stay constantly busy to block thoughts I didn't want in my head. Now it's because I have so much more energy! I need downtime though, to pause and take inventory or just to chill. I'm working on it.

People are beginning to notice the change in my appearance and are giving me compliments... another thing I have had a hard time accepting in the past, I was embarrassed that anyone noticed me. I'm getting a lot better, and I walk with my head much higher and say "THANK YOU!!!" to anyone that takes the time to say something kind to me.

Did a quick gym session this morning because I want to get out and enjoy this beautiful day! Which is where I'm going now. :O)

Peace to all.

Jan I love your photo!! I love that the animals are looking at your view too. I have four cats and they also love sitting outside with me. Learning to chill is so hard, but when you do, you think what the hell I've been missing out for so long!! It's really such a fantastic feeling when someone comments on your weightloss - you are doing so well, keep going!!

Thanks so much, and thanks for being a buddy. I love my kitties and puppies! Another reason to get fit so I can go jogging with the dogs. Have a great day!

Thank you for sharing the beautiful picture of God's creation. Isn't sitting and contemplating the good things that are happening in your life preferable to painfully mulling over the bad? I'm glad you're learning to accept compliments - many more are sure to come your way!

It is a lovely way to enjoy some peaceful time. Florida has a lot of birds, and we see all kinds around the feeder, in the trees, wading in the shallows and even diving into the lake (Ospreys) after fish. It is hard to learn to accept compliments, but I am getting there... God bless!
