So I took two weeks off from the diet for a break. Luckily I didn't gain much weight back. Now after one week back on the diet (and several cheats) I'm 3 pounds lighter and very motivated to keep it up. I actually had pizza and cake on Friday, and it didn't seem to slow me down! It feels good that I can have things that I really want from time to time at a treat, and that it's not the end of the world. I'm trying to find that balance.
I have a really good feel for the diet now and I don't think it will be that hard to follow. I have already made about 20 meals that I have frozen that should keep me going for a while. Maybe this is the way I should go for a while because it is so convenient and easy to stick with. I will make enough meals for lunches and dinners to last about a month. That way I only need to worry about breakfasts and snacks. Thank you Haylie Pomroy for designing the only diet I have tried so far that I really don't mind at all! The best part is that it actually works. I am never hungry, I'm happy, I'm learning good habits. This is the first diet I tried where I actually enjoy cooking the food because I like to eat it! Now Ive lost almost 15 pounds in what I will consider 5 weeks. Not too shabby. If I can keep up that rate (which I don't expect to...) I could potentially lose about 30 more pounds before I go on vacation to the shore in July! Wouldn't that be lovely? I would even be happy with 20 pounds. I'm going to stick with this diet until I lose all the weight that I want. I know now that I can take a week or two off here and there for a "breather" from some of the rules of the diet and still be okay. The diet is designed to heal the metabolism, after all. Perhaps my body is actually responding. I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day! (Thank you Mom, for telling me about this great diet!)
