Asarver's Journal, 09 December 2021

Nice. Was hoping something would give this week. And I'm glad, cause my foot has been bugging me a little bit, so I have to be careful with the running. I stretched so much yesterday, and did a nice 2 mile run and it felt ok.

I also got new shoes Monday, since I think my one pair is what started causing my foot to ache. Or I could've overdone it this weekend. Hard to say!

Smart recovery plans, stretching and checking to ensure you have the right foot wear is smart. Wishing you a great Friday👍🏾💗

Try soaking your feet in epsom salts for 20 mins, helps my foot a ton!

Thanks buenitabishop! And I'll give an epsom soak a try, Chunkalicious2!

Ashley , what type of shoes do you run in?

I've been running in the adidas Boston 9 and the tempo 9, but the tempo had at least 350 miles on it, so I think that mightve started my foot. But to be fair, I've also been really bad with stretching lately, even knowing I had a foot injury in 2018. 🤦‍♀️ I've been stretching a few times a day now and I started rolling my calves out again, and my calves are now nice and relaxed 😂

I got the brooks ghost 14 for the new pair though 😃 they are so bulky looking but so comfortable! I also have a brand new pair of bostons in my closet, because I bought them last year when they were BOGO, but the current ones only have 200 ish miles on them

I'm currently using ultraboost 22's . Damn girl you go. It would take me 10 months to a year to get 350 mi on a pair of running shoes. You're a beast 💪

Bulky shoes I can't stand lol I know this is totally shortsighted but I'm way too vain to wear them. I don't judge others any capacity especially people who are real runners. I'm basically a 10 mile a week guy at the most

I think it's been about 10 months 😃 I got them last year I think, though I've been alternating with the Boston. 💪💪LOL that's what I said when the guy first pulled the shoes out for me to try, I was like I never would've picked this out on my own, it's so ugly!! Those ultraboosts look awesome though, I bet they feel sweet too 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that way. . The ultraboosts are comfortable and look sleek , the look is what I was attracted to. Is it mostly pavement running you do?
13 Dec 21 by member: moon121314
Yeah, either road/sidewalk, and sometimes the trail, but I think it's just normal paved too (at least doesn't feel different). Do you mostly run on the treadmill? Do you have programs setup or do you manually change it depending on what you wanna do?

A treadmill currently. Occasionally I will mix in some track at a local high school or university. I was a sprinter in college and ran the 200 and 400. Definitely not a long distance guy. I usually run a couple miles a week in 2 different sessions and mix in a 4 to 5 mile run once a week. I do it mainly for cardiovascular heath and to burn calories. Never experienced runners high so I have no clue what that's all about 😂😂 I've had knee replacement surgery due to multiple knee injuries so I limit that kind of pounding

Ah nice! So you do any other activity? Runners high is great though! But sometimes it is rough. And yeah, you definitely don't wanna push on the knees too hard!

Yeah I resistance train 5 days a week. I do some personal training for a small group of clientele. Mostly women looking to prep for weddings, vacations or life style change. Used to be really passionate about it but got burned out and didn't like the environment that you have to be in to good living off it. At this point I can hand pick those I want to work with. A couple of them is who turned me o to FS. How about you with activities?

Hand picking who you work with is nice. I only run really. I used to play volleyball, but I haven't found the motivation to play again really. Running always came first anyways, making it kind of painful if I pushed too hard 😂
