judibird's Journal, 03 June 2009

Good Morning, Looks like a beautiful Idaho day ahead of me. My focus today is enjoying the moment. I have lost 50 lbs and should be really excited. I do not know why I am not. Maybe it just has not sunk in yet. I must learn not to be to hard on myself and allow myself to enjoy the small and large victories. A lot of it is my childhood coming back and never expecting anything good to happen to me. If I expect the worse then I will never be disappointed. It is hard to celebrate the victories. Does that sound stupid? Oh well here I am now and I am going to celebrate today. I feel good, look better and know I am a good person. I am okay. Well I am just rambling and putting down my thoughts. Guess I should get ready for work. You all have a GREAT DAY!

First of all lets get this out of the way. You are never stupid nor do you ever ramble. Okay??? I really enjoy your journals, they are insightful and come from your heart. Your comment about your childhood, never expecting anything good to happen, if you expect the worse then you will not be disappointed stuck a cord in me. I was also like that and can still slip back into that mindset if I am not mindful about it, BUT, this is now, not then. My wish for you is when you wake up in the morning you realize what a precious gift you are on this planet and always, always expect nothing but the best from yourself and others. You give so much on this site and I hope to be reading your journals for a long time. Have a great day. ((Hugs))

YAHOO FOR 50 LBS GONE FOREVER!!!!!!!! WAY TO GO!!!!!! I agree with wecandothis comments above ... "you are never stupid nor do you ever ramble." It is positive that you can identify now that a part of what keeps you stuck is that old tape from long ago about "never expecting that anything good" will happen to you. Having it identified means you can move on to changing that stinking thinking!! YIPEEEE!!!! You deserve good things in your life and you deserve to feel at peace with your WHOLE self. What a precious gift you have been in my life and how blessed I am that I get to see you almost every single day!! Have a wonderful day ... I'm celebrating your 50 lbs ... can you hear me? WOOT! WOOT! (happy dance feet moving under my desk) FANTASTIC!!! HOT DAMN!!!

Judibird this is my first post on someone else's comments, but I want to tell you to celebrate. One of the things we do wrong as adults is always focus only on the finish line. At some point you have to turn your head around and look at the long road behind you (50 lbs) and recognize your accomplishments. If this is difficult set milestones for yourself. You don't need to focus them on actual weight lost, but on the results that you are expecting your weight loss to provide. Happier? Smaller Dress Size? Co-worker noticing your weight loss. All of these should be cherished for the grand accomplishments that they are. Now get out there and whoop it up. 50 is a great number!
